All I know is I've experienced the sensation that's clearly explained on the Wiki article, as well as the one on the sidebar of this subreddit, and I haven't noticed the slightest distinction.

But why have "cold chills" have been researched, yet "ASMR" hasn't, assuming that these could potentially be two different things? And if they're not, then is "ASMR" just a pseudoscientific misinterpretation of cold chills?

I guess I'm just weirded out that the subreddit is called ASMR, when it's the one that nobody but a few bloggers, let alone researchers, has even heard of.

From the Wikipedia page:

A cold chill (also known as frisson, or simply thrills or cold chills) is described by David Huron as, "a pleasant tingling feeling, associated with the flexing of hair follicles resulting in goose bumps (technically called piloerection), accompanied by a cold sensation, and sometimes producing a shudder or shiver."

The research paper and Wikipedia article were written on cold chills. How is this different than ASMR?

The rest of that rack are DVDs... it's not uncommon to find really old products on store shelves, usually crammed back behind everything else. They probably should've sent it back to the warehouse years ago, but it was likely forgotten during inventory. If you bought it, it would probably cost one cent.
