How often do colored belts play closed guard? by closernoughin bjj

[–]zaxonortesus 2 points3 points ago

Big white belts that do nothing but try and spaz out of guard or hit a forearm choke from guard? Always closed. Anyone else, usually open. DLR, half, one footed x, x-guard, seated guard.

A hopeful story for young childfree-ers by Eskabanin childfree

[–]zaxonortesus 8 points9 points ago

There is a couple that we run into at our regular bar that's older, late 50's, childfree, and they spend a month or two on the southern Spanish coast every year. When we run into each other, we sit and share stories of travel and adventure, I get that same impression from them as you seem to have got on this trip. I have no doubt that we are making the right choice for us. Cool story.

Best place to get steamed crabs in Maryland? (xpost r/Annapolis) by Crochetniacin maryland

[–]zaxonortesus 0 points1 point ago

From a local, for crabs Cantlers is the place to go. But ONLY for crabs... And Maryland crab soup. Boatyard in Eastport Annapolis is by far a better place for seafood/food in general.

Anyone know some good flea markets in the Annaplis/Arnold area? by Legnoxin Annapolis

[–]zaxonortesus 0 points1 point ago

Flea markets? Not really. Like swap meet style? Not that I know of. There is a HUGE one on Rt. 1, between 32 and 175 and 100, but it's a hell of a drive.

Went through downtown on my way to Eastport. This is all I could think of with the crappy traffic. by zaxonortesusin Annapolis

Right?! I'll either hole up here or head out to DC. Regardless, they're probably the worst weekends of the year.

The one up in Columbia? Yeah, I have a bunch of friends there. Too bad the Covenant of Columbia makes them shut down at 11:00. :-/

I'd rather play kickball with a hornets nest than hear another Mervis Diamond Importers commercial. by RamsesTooin washingtondc

Funny story about Raaauuuuuneh Meeehhhvis. I had a friend that won a diamond in a contest they did a few years ago. A little sliver of a thing, irrelevant though. Anyway, she said that he ended up being a big perve and offered my friend money to take pics of her in nothing but his diamonds... EFFING CREEPY!

[–]zaxonortesus 0 points1 point ago

Wow, a place exists?! Thanks for that. My point is that I keep up with these sorts of things, as its my job, specifically looking at a few of the countries listed and didn't recognize the attacks. The website also says 'sources available upon request.' So it was a shot at that and also wondering if there were actual fake sources. Thanks though. Have (another of what seems many) a downvote.

Is it wrong to tell people I'm infertile when I'm really CF by choice, just so I don't have to listen to their BS? by therowkatin childfree

If you don't mind a lie, then no worries! Wifey and I did that for a while, then found out she really was. Best bad medical news ever, actually.

Sources? I'm pretty positive that a bunch of those never happened. Also, the anti-Islamic schtick is so tired. I could compile a list of fake/exaggerated items by Christains as well.

Hey r/atheism, are any of you in long term relationships/married to someone who is a firm religious believer? I need advice. by DJFreeMein atheism

[–]zaxonortesus 0 points1 point ago

Or even simple science experiments at home on Saturdays/Sundays? Anything to keep their mind thinking and wondering.

Take them to a museum on Saturday, then she gets church on Sunday? I'm lucky that wifey and I are both atheist, so that's about all I can suggest.

I've always been a fan of naked bikes. Also, with my long arms (76in wingspan), a bit more upright may be better. Thanks!

Fair point. I'm in MD, USA, so near crappy traffic and irresponsible drivers. And no, certainly not skinny teenagers... double that, actually :-(

Looked up the SV650, I like it. And good advice. Something that I should be thinking of as well, maybe wifey doesn't come along every time or at least until I'm more comfortable. Thanks.
