The outtake from this scene is almost as great, when Dwight misses the trampoline.

Can anyone tell me what sub genre of Jazz this is, or link me something similar? Such a great piece! by LeGruffaloOoOOin Music

Pretty straight-forward swing piano trio. It's good!

There are no words to describe this. by theempiresin gifs

"Tim" and "Eric" would be two good words to describe it.

One could argue "and" proves to be a valid third option.

That song you love that nobody else "gets"... by brocolitimein LetsTalkMusic

Young girls are comin' to the caaanyyyooooooooonnnnnn

I didn't care about that song until I had a project back in high school about Tale of Two Cities, and I made a soundtrack and included that song. I don't remember what relevance there was to the story, but it was good.

To take or not to take; that is the question. by rlt4ein HalfLife

I never thought the game would be more amusing having to take that thing around, so I never tried. I can only imagine the patience men better than I must have.

Take a step back from the ball and let your arms hang, like someone else commented. That should help you straighten the right arm at impact. And let your body turn naturally in the follow-through - you're kind of picking up and moving the body more up-and-down instead of turning around a center of gravity. If that makes any sense.

Reddit, what do you have hidden somewhere that nobody knows about (or that you shouldn't have)? by wil555in AskReddit

There must be a song in there somewhere..."I Keep My BDSM Key in My Ukulele Case" or something.

Heh. 6' and 175, I guess that assumption is valid based on the given info...just a 23 year old who doesn't want his roommates eating all of his mommy's cookies. Sue me.

What are your favorite music books? by tabelzin LetsTalkMusic

It's a hair biased towards Portland Elliott vs LA Elliott, and you can tell by the wording he uses sometimes, but other than that, I thought it was pretty informative and cool.

I just landed a K-12 music job. Any tips? by socksgetlostin Teachers

[–]wil555 1 point2 points ago

Be very careful. One of my best friends landed a PK-8 job with choir and musicals and it was almost the death of him - far too much to handle. I don't know the size of your school, but be VERY wary of not biting off more than you can chew.

For resources, I recommend John Feierabend's books and Conversational Solfege methods out of GIA Publishing.

The kids should be doing music, learning about music, and becoming more musically literate in every single lesson.

And follow the National Standards - they're there to guide your lessons and keep your kids on a good path.

I just gave a lecture about the first year of teaching at a local Music Ed conference - I'd be happy to send you my handout if you're interested.

Don't let technology take over making unprocessed music. Let the kids feel and play actual instruments. Garageband units are great, and recording moments/performances to listen back to and evaluate are wonderful, but my heart hurts when kids are robbed of experiencing life that isn't on a screen.

I second "Our Band Could Be Your Life." I also loved...

  • "Things The Grandchildren Should Know" by E from Eels (it's a quick, good read)
  • "Elliott Smith and the Big Nothing" by Benjamin Nugent
  • "Fear of Music: The Greatest 261 Albums Since Punk and Disco" by Garry Mulholland
  • "Minimalists: 20th Century Composers" by K. Robert Schwartz.

What were you like as a kid? by wil555in introvert

[–]wil555[S] 1 point2 points ago

Give it time. It took me a bit, but you find people who are very similar to you, but also came from a totally different place. I liked that about my new college friends when I was in school.
