So /r/vexillology held a competition to design a flag for reddit. This was the winner. by abbiistabbiiin pics

Please don't be one of those people who takes reddit too seriously and feels the need to display it out in the real world.

It's a popular website, not a secret club or a way or life (at least for most people).

But your life, your decision. I'm just sayin.

I was going to buy a bench for my porch when I found this in front of a neighbor's house. It should be better than new this weekend... by confused_dwarfin Frugal

[–]whoblowsthere 1 point2 points ago

Well considering he got the rest for free, it seems appropriate to do the rest the right way (given teak is the right way, I don't know much about benches but I'm assuming it is). The frugal part was the free bench.

Frugal ≠ Cheap.

My interpretation of frugal is spending money in appropriate situations in the most efficient manner.

You can be frugal buying a $100,000 car; everyone has different spending limits. Doing due diligence to find the best deal would be frugal in that situation. Not buying a used Civic, which I feel most of this subreddit would suggest.

Yes you sound upset, are you joking? You're spazzing. Relax, it's just the internet.

Take a deep breath. You're upsetting yourself over imaginary internet points.

Are these pants okay for casual summer and spring wear? by scCassiusin malefashionadvice

[–]whoblowsthere 0 points1 point ago

I'd be weary of the factory line, it's going to be a cheaper quality so you're literally just paying for the name. I trust J.Crew, but I'd look around as well.

Personally I'd just spend the extra money and get this:

http://www.jcrew.com/mens_feature/NewArrivals/pants/PRDOVR~79145/99102693488/ENE~1+2+3+22+4294967294+20~~~16~15~all~mode+matchallany~~~~~seersucker/79145.jsp

Pants will last you a while anyway!

What your thoughts on factory/outlet products? by whoblowstherein malefashionadvice

[–]whoblowsthere[S] 0 points1 point ago

I agree completely. It's worth it to look around because you don't know what you're going to find.

That said, yes I do live in the US. Traditionally, outlets were created as a way for brands to sell overstocked, out of season, and slightly defective clothing directly to consumers at a lower price. I'm assuming based on your post the UK outlets may very well operate under this model. If that's the case, you'd be silly not to check them out because it's the same quality and clothing that you would find/would have found in their normal store.

Unfortunately, here in the US at least, the business model changed. Companies realized how popular they were among consumers and opened more and more outlets. With this, they began to make cheaper/lower-quality clothing to stock in these outlets for these bargain hungry consumers. It's important to note that these clothes (with the exception of the clothes that are truly overstocked/out of season/slightly defective) were never offered in the regular store. They are made specifically for the outlet. Naturally, these clothes cost less. But you aren't getting the same deal as you did historically because these clothes are actually of a lower-grade.

So when they say MSRP is $75 and the outlet price is $30, it's not that much of a deal. The MSRP is a completely arbitrary number because it was never even offered in the normal store. It's an inferior product that is worth close to $30 anyway.

Here is a great article on the topic.

And are there really that many Heat fans? I remember looking at the seats last year to find them almost empty in the beginning of the season. It's South Beach - people go for the status. Once they got good, all the pseudo-celebs and wannabes rolled in with their fake girlfriends.

Where are you located? I hate buying shoes without trying them on, it seems silly that different manufacturers fit differently, even when the size is based on the SAME METRIC MEASUREMENT. That said, I understand why it happens.

Dude, you have an quarterback who's a better offensive coordinator than most of those in the league. You have the one-man show.

God I can't wait to see him play a game again.
