Auto Repair in Boston? by NeitherSeenNorHeardin boston

[–]wepadadaban 0 points1 point ago

Bazarian Motors in Newton. I bit farther out, but it's run by only one guy who is fantastic (Ishkan I think his name is?).

He's friendly honest, and just a good dude. Did a great job all the times I've gone to him.

What if you don't have a chair.. is it ok to just lean diagonally on one leg, basically trying to mimic the position you described, and doing the row that way? I saw it in a video but can't seem to track it down at the moment..

Take a look at what my daughter said about her Ken doll. Reddit, what great quotes do you have from your kids? by hunterlakerin AskReddit

[–]wepadadaban 10 points11 points ago

I was talking to my kindergarten teacher, and she asked me my favorite animal.

I said "I like porkypines". She laughed at me and said "Porkypines? that's so cute". I was angry for years, wondering why she said it was cute to like porcupines - I thought they were badass.

What are you paranoid about? I cover the built in cam on my laptop with tape because i think someone will hack it and spy on me. by crash-from-spacein AskReddit

[–]wepadadaban 0 points1 point ago

I've always been interested in this concept, although in a kind of different way. I feel like I'm definitely a competent individual in most regards, but many times my hubris takes off and I really start to think I could get on par with anyone in almost anything, as long as I put in the effort.

While on one hand 1(I think this is blind, simple cockiness), I think that focusing on thought #1 can inhibit one from having the real self confidence and self-calculation of skill that is due to them. It's a double entendre. Or a catch-22. Or one of those things.

"People pay me money. I send them a really sharp pencil. That's about it." David Rees (of Get Your War On) explains his artisanal pencil sharpening business. by thestockadesin humor

[–]wepadadaban 3 points4 points ago

hahaha I feel so stupid because I believe it, but I also don't feel stupid. I dunno people buy far stupider shit for its "artisanal" value. And fuck it I would buy a pencil from him just because he seems like an awesome dude.

Fuck the pencil, here's $15.

LPT: Towel damp from the previous day's shower? Squeegee the water off yourself with your hand before you towel-dry. by wepadadabanin LifeProTips

[–]wepadadaban[S] 0 points1 point ago

Dude if you really think about it, there are a couple of benefits, and it's actually more work. Obviously if your towel stays damp day to day from showers this is a big saver. Also, I think that the less damp the towel is the less bacteria it'll have on it.

And it actually takes more effort than just toweling, because you're basically doing it twice.

Tomos won't run without choke? by ShoesAreGrandin moped

[–]wepadadaban 1 point2 points ago

ya in its simplest form running with the choke on means the fuel/air ratio is off (meaning that without choke there is too much air or too little fuel).

Two possibilities: 1-There is an air leak somewhere in the carb like eobanb said, or maybe you should check your engine gaskets, like on the header, etc.. because those can cause air leaks into the engine or 2 - as IonaMerkin said, you're running lean on gas because the fuel-ratio screw on the carb is set to too little gas. This means by applying the choke, you cut off air and allow a bunch more fuel in, therefore correcting the ratio.

I basically restated what's been said, but I think a little more simply. I don't know your experience lol hope this helps

[–]wepadadaban[S] 0 points1 point ago

Are they really though? Besides, what's "more"? 70% genetics vs. 30% care, 60-40? 51-49?

Is there evidence that someone who "takes perfect care" of their body, despite genetic factors (you could argue that the condition of your body is an environmental factor I think), will suffer as much or die as quickly from a disease they are predisposed for as someone who doesn't take such good care?

My logic tells me that there's no way that there isn't some significant benefit to , especially over the course of your lifetime. Also, lifespan wasn't my particular track of thought, but more of the quality of life.

How's this for the start of my watch collection? by Dick--Manin malefashionadvice

[–]wepadadaban 25 points26 points ago

I think it's fucking awesome. Simple, but the touches on the straps are awesome and the gold arms and tick marks add a steampunky/classy twist when paired w/the leather strap.

Sweet watch. Rolex - must be ridiculously expensive - how much?
