I'm rubbishing the bus service in Canberra if you're not on a high frequency (intertown) route. I used to have a commute to work that took 90 minutes by public transport. It's now a 20 minute drive.

I wouldn't mind doing it at Tilley's in Lyneham for something different. Be good to get some ideas from everyone and then lock in a place by the 23rd.

That said, also a +1 for W&P - nice and central and rather pleasant.

What on earth do you mean? Economic numbers adjusted for inflation is the more appropriate ones to use. Inflation adjustments make things more comparable.

to a point. all this talk about achieving a budget surplus (as well as being responsible spenders of public money) would hopefully mean that we will not see anymore of such rubbish.

On a similar note, i do hope that silly government measures to distort the property market will go. Not just the obvious ones like the first homs vendor's boost and negative gearing, but also indirect ones like allowing super funds to directly own property.

Don't feel that one has to happen at the expense of the other though. Also, might be worth starting a thread early getting ideas on meetup.

we're still having this one at the Wig and Pen (trying to find a consensus for a place for this saturday will mean that we wouldn't have this at all, but discussing an alternate for next months' will most definitely be welcome.
