it's from masking out the edges of the binoculars, the bright area you see is the center of the lens in the binocular... the dark area is the outer edge of the lens. It was much worse before, I had to lighten up the dark spots

Thanks -- this is a long time exposure shot for about 8 seconds (I think on a different day), which is the max my point-and-shoot camera (Kodak V570 dual lens) will allow... which you can see, is too much light http://i.imgur.com/VfxaQ.jpg
