I posted what kind of lock it is somewhere in this thread, it's one of those locks you'd see on a front door (not the chain, but the one that slides so you can open it a crack).

I took the yarn and tied it to that, then tied it to the full hamper she left by the door. I did this 3 times, in 3 different places, so I'd be sure it wouldn't snap and fuck me over. Then, I shoved the hamper over so the weight would pull the lock open, and slammed the door shut. It worked, but she figured it out and moved the hamper this last time.

There is a hand signal as well for times when speech is impossible. I use it very sparingly, usually only if I have an arm or leg going numb and it needs to be loosened, or if there is an unintended injury (cramps, arm bent back wrong, etc.)

Only during sessions. When we're just out as friends, no. It's kept separate between play time and normal time. But yes, they get in on the verbal abuse and humiliation as well.

Yes. It's a metal dog collar, which with my normal attire fits perfectly (bandanas, torn shirts and jeans, long hair).
