Actually good prices on them as long as you need the rule book.

Check out my thread here and others from the Canon of True Law to give you a good idea of where to go.

Read the link he posted to the MBTA, that is pretty much it. The rules produced from the underlying treaty aren't super reasonable (for example, Crows can be killed as nuisances/pests but not kept as pets because of the MBTA).

LPT: Make a Starbucks Frappuccino for $0.32 by LuxShowin LifeProTips

[–]uselessjd 1 point2 points ago

Espresso is a brewing method not a roast. Any roast can be made into espresso or coffee (or a subset of coffee [ie., french press, pourover, drip, etc.]).

Lobster_breath is correct, they use espresso in their frappucinos (or at least they used to). 'Coffee roast' and 'espresso roast' are just terms that companies like starbucks have made up to make it easier to sell stuff. I am not sure about this since I haven't worked in Starbucks for, oh, 8 years or so (since before they had the super automatics), but it used to be the 'espresso roast' in the grinders for every espresso-based drink (which at the time frappucinos were).

I wouldn't be surprised if the frappucinnos are 100% powdered at this point though. I haven't been to a Starbucks in a long time and haven't had a frappucino in 8 years (I tried one when I worked there and they were free). If it comes out of the espresso machine, though, it is espresso. They may use the iced coffee for them though now.

I don't think you are a troll - I think you just have no filter. Most of the time you are voicing your opinion, just in a style that comes off as "intentionally being an asshole" (I don't think you are an a-hole, you are just honest).

Yeah, I did too - but he has a point!

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I happen to agree with it.

Getting ready for a tournament, need to know what to add. by Kashammerin Warmachine

[–]uselessjd 0 points1 point ago

I don't know anyone who has met them on the table that has been impressed. They look great in theory, but in reality things don't pan out - Arm 16 isn't good, they are slow as crap, and they only have one attack. Sanguine bond is good for spreading damage - but with medium based 8 wound infantry I find there is rarely a time I want to spread damage (they are either not really damaged [point or two] or blown the crap up where I wouldn't want to spread it out).

[–]uselessjd 0 points1 point ago

I think that is a bad idea. You can easily build 2 solid lists with the units/jacks you have above.

I would buy a Reckoner if I were you - they are one of the best 'jacks in the game.

They really aren't.

NQ+: Collosals are 19pts each, more info and a Cryx/Khador batrep by alexviritalin Warmachine

[–]uselessjd 1 point2 points ago

They pushed us into 50 points with this years steamroller rules, but I really prefer 35 (you have to make important army composition decisions at 35).

I agree, though, I hope they don't try to push it to 75 points next year.

Why must you torture me MacQueen Pipes!?! by creepybobin PipeTobacco

[–]uselessjd 0 points1 point ago

Doesn't effect smoking experience, but if that is what people want that is what they want. I'm not advocating McQueen pipes (although I have heard they aren't bad smokers, but you should just buy them from a store that has stock) - just noting that Vauen is prohibitively expensive for some folks.

[novel][ongoing]Call of the Herald (Godsland #1) by Brian Rathbone Brian Rathbone (Author) by MichaelJSullivanin fantasy_freebies

It was okay. Very typical fantasy with the 'Oh wow magical powers' deus ex machina that happens to save the world.

I agree with this take. It wasn't a bad book, but it wasn't good. Had he left out the economy-political dribble he could have had a solid story developed by decent characters.

And let me know if you see any other good book deals, I've only got the Falconer's Apprentice now, but will hopefully be studying for the exam soon(ish) and love books anyway!

As pointed out above - pretty sure its a Mississippi Kite. Definitely not a red tailed hawk.

Pretty sure you are right. Crummy picture (of the bird) though so kinda hard to tell.

Not much talent that goes into that - you just have to be willing to get out the sandpaper/scraper/etc. and put some elbow grease into it.

They do, but the Vauen ones are pretty expensive.

Join the rest of us 'old guys' (meaning over the age of 25) in this subreddit. It makes me laugh to think I'm an oldtimer, but if you can remember usenet boards - that makes you old around here.

I really wish furniture was easier to ship - I haven't been able to find someone who deals in good, usable furniture (ie., not carrying the 'Oh wow antique' premium) in our area. It is either $5 crappy chest of drawers or $2000 'antique' chest of drawers.
