The fact that you care is a huge thing. I went to a very small high school myself and while I was pretty miserable, suicidal was never seriously one of them. I was pretty self destructive.

I'm glad you have her in therapy, that's a good first step. I think you might need to have a discrete chat with the school. If she's this damned miserable, then some one on the faculty must see something. While I understand you don't want to cause any more troubles for your daughter, that she might get retribution for, you have to get this dealt with before it turns into physical abuse from her peers and not just emotional/verbal abuse.

You might want to consider an anti-depressant, or rather take her to a psychiatrist to see if an anti-depressant might help. Suicidal idealization is pretty serious and she does need more help if therapy alone isn't helping it.

As for what I did, I played a lot of MUDs and MUSHes online and other online RPGs (text based, I'm an old fart). I made some great internet friends while I was in high school, some of them were penpals to me and we'd write letters through the post. It was a grand time.

Despite being an atheist, I joined 4H and a local church group and went to 4H camp and church camp a lot. Those people were nice to me and never picked on me, it was good to have friends from outside of high school. Summer camp was loads of fun and I didn't have to be that loser from high school at state 4H camp. Sure I had to put up with the God stuff and religion, but having friends made it worth it.
