I am one of these people.

I don't see any problem with drugs like marijuana or mushrooms being legal. More lives are being ruined (mainly through incarceration) because these substances are illegal, at least in the United States. In Canada it feels like weed is already legal, since people smoke it pretty freely in the streets here. At least in Toronto.

I do have an issue with the legalization of harder drugs, like heroine, though. From what I've read, one use is enough to destroy the life of a person with an addictive personality. That seems too dangerous to me. Plus you know that once something is legal, kids will have a much easier time accessing it, regardless of age restriction.
