Everyone I watch hockey with remembers Harold druken so those fans bother me too but I used to live in Calgary and nobody gave a shit about the flames until they went to the finals. So I imagine it's the same everywhere. I think what the op is saying is not that he doesn't support the Canucks, just that this current roster is a bit of an embarrassment to those who see guys like Trevor linden as the kind of guy that represents the team we cheer for. And I definitely share that feeling. That's being said I would never cheer for anyone other than the Canucks and will back this team and all other Canucks rosters until the final game. The bandwagon thing is just the curse of having a good team in a hockey market and will not differ in any other city.
