If my fitness goals have nothing to do with lifting a bar with weights on it then it does not "help a lot better than the huggy-bear body acceptance cardio bunny crap".

I think you're confusing the goal itself with how you get there.

Weightlifting helps you retain muscle as you age and helps prevent osteoporosis. It gives the body a nice shape (I realize this is opinion). People who lift weights are less likely to hurt themselves doing something like playing with their kids in the backyard.

Are you honestly under the impression that namecalling makes you seem smarter than the people you are referring to?

Weight loss diet with PCOS by amgovin PCOS

I think it's more logical to eat the veggies and fruit. By juicing, you're removing the fiber and keeping the sugar. (When counting carbs, you subtract the fiber to get the net total.) Especially in the context of PCOS, where insulin resistance tends to be a factor, I don't believe this to be a good idea.

I'm all for a glass of fresh juice once in a while, don't get me wrong. Aside from sugar, there are a lot of vitamins in there. However, there's little to no protein, which is needed to retain and/or build muscle.

I'm aware that this is not a popular opinion. By all means give it a try and see how you feel.

Routine Critiques / Program Results Posts: by xtc46in weightroom

If you're interested in information like this, would you be willing to create a spreadsheet or something to track the information? You could have tabs for the different programs, then columns listing stats. Probably not a good idea to make it editable to the world, but if you're willing to maintain it it would most likely be a useful addition to the FAQ.

Seems to me that having that information organized and categorized is more useful than random posts.

Edit: Should have read further before spouting off my idea copy. Never mind :(

Question about arm soreness (or lack thereof, really)! by dontforgetpantsin xxfitness

[–]tanglisha 6 points7 points ago

Soreness is not an indication of a good workout. I only get sore when I haven't done something for a long time and then start up with that particular movement again. Some people never get sore.

So long as you're progressing, you're doing the right thing :)

If you find that your prone to that, you may want to pick up a pack of those diabetic emergency glucose tablets. You just suck them and they replenish your blood sugar.

You don't have to go full keto in order to get the benefits of low carb. We're all different, a higher carb count might work better for you.

My doctor is a PCOS specialist. The first thing she does with all her patients is put them on low-carb. Most of us have insulin resistance, so following along with what works for a diabetic diet makes sense.

Here's a rather depressing study about PCOS and caloric needs to drop bodyfat.

What's hands down worked the best for me is Lyle McDonald's Rapid Fat Loss. It's a protein sparing modified fast and is a rather serious way to go - you're eating few enough calories that you actually have to start supplementing things like potassium to stay healthy. I followed it for 3 weeks, which is as long as I'm willing to eat 1,300 calories a day. I did manage to both gain strength and lose weight on this diet, something that I'd never had happen before. It's boring, it's hard to go out to eat more than once or twice a week, but you aren't really hungry because you can eat all the green veggies you want.

Pictures you spinning around and around in the gym with your arms stuck out and head back - until you fall down.

Sounds like a fun warmup to me :)

Women's Weightroom Wednesdays - Creatine by super_luminalin weightroom

[–]tanglisha 2 points3 points ago

I haven't really watched weight changes on it, but I tend to only take a teaspoon of it in the morning because I know it works better when you take it consistently. The only time I'm normally off it is if I run out or are on vacation, and I tend to gain weight on vacation :)

I'll pay better attention from now on, hadn't really thought about it before. I certainly don't feel any different when I'm taking it, but I do tend to drink a lot of water either way.
