Babe Ruth in Japan, Connie Mack All Stars Tour, 1934 [3000 x 2397] by artmanin HistoryPorn

Very cool. I was always under the apparently mistaken impression that baseball became popular during the post-war occupation. Nice to learn something new.

Eventually, the media will be able to play the actual game (at least, significant portions of it) and report about it outside of NDAs. At that point, they can make up their own minds if the game lives up to the hype Treyarch is pushing.

And every single thing they find out while at Treyarch is marketing people telling them how great the game will be and showing them specific bits and pieces of the game designed specifically to hold up those assertions. Anything they may find out that is not marketing BS is probably covered by NDAs, and isn't being published. So, the point remains.

Similarly, that hot water freezes faster than cold water.

That's the example I use.

"It's good for you because it's 100% natural."

"Tell that to Socrates"

At this point, no. No one outside Treyarch has actually seen the game, so any available info is just their marketing folks singing its praises.

Sure it does. You prestige level is inversely proportional to how much of a life you have.

Not a helicopter, but the SR-71 had fuel tanks that leaked onto the runway before takeoff. Only after the airframe heated up during flight did the tanks fully seal.

If we compound the interest computation, we compute it more often.

Minor clarification: compounding doesn't mean you compute more often, it means you calculate future interest on top of previously accrued interest as well as principal.

A better way to phrase that line would be to say, "if we compute interest more often, and compound it..."

The rest of your explanation is very well done.

They also make Freschetta.

The hardest thing is remembering to use them, because you cycle through them so fast you can actually lap yourself.

On a couple of my classes, I run only UAV and Counter UAV, nothing else. By not assigning a higher streak, I can keep both UAV and CUAV in the air almost the whole game.

No shit. I was sniping on KC yesterday on Black Box. No one would pick up the damn tags - they would run right by them. WTF. Usually, someone will pick up the tags, but yesterday, no one.

Trouble is, in an infographic such as this, making such a basic math error puts the rest of the numbers in doubt, which kind of ruins the whole thing.

Vikings Stadium vs Target Field: Why is the Vikes stadium so tough to get? by SaintVincein minnesotavikings

[–]strib666 0 points1 point ago

The Vikings weren't asked to wait patiently while the Twins and Gophers were trying to get their stadiums. The Vike's had a stadium deal in place at the same time as the Twins and Gophers that they intentionally torpedoed soon after the Wilfs took over the team.

It was a package deal for all three stadiums, and the votes were all lined up. Even Minneapolis was on board with it because they were getting 2 out of the 3 stadiums. The Wilfs backed out of the deal at the last minute under the guise of saying they didn't want the team to pay for a roof - which they knew was a deal killer.

They would be sitting in a fabulous new complex in Blaine right now, complete with new corporate offices and practice facilities, if they hadn't done that.

The amount of time that has passed since then, and the amount of trouble getting a new deal, is karma.

Wow. Way to overreact.

I didn't point out a grammatical error. I pointed out that you use the phrase "who all", which is southern, and, perhaps, one of the reasons you get accuse of having a southern accent.
