As a sociology major who went into social work, let me advise you: don't.

That being said, many state social work agencies, particularly within child protective services, will pay for your masters in social work if you sign a contract that you will work for them for x amount of years after completing it. In my particular state, x=2.

Found this hidden letter from the previous home owner....how sad by cage715in pics

My mother dropped out of school in the 8th grade to take care of her younger sisters and brothers. She is a horrible speller, but has very neat handwriting.

Sometimes, Reddit detectives are amazingly ridiculous. Sure it could be fake, but this is certainly one of the dumber explanations as to why.

After a very long break from fantasy (20+ years) I've recently rediscovered the passion I had for it when I was young, thanks to Peter Brett, Patrick Rothfuss and Brent Weeks. Can anyone recommend an author I might try next? by TroyPDXin Fantasy

True. I have never read a series of books that is as rewarding during a re-read. As dense and full of foreshadowing and intricate, minute plot points and twists as they are, it really was like reading them again for the first time.

I have been reading these again. I initially stopped reading them after the 7th or 8th book. I think I bought Path of Daggers when it came out in hardback but never finished it.

I am going to keep on until I finish them, but I really don't find them nearly as good as I did in high school. There has been a ton of great, great fantasy that I have read in the meantime that has spoiled me I think. They are certainly a great "fantasy 101", if you will, though.

Speaking of which, I hear I have some hard, slow reading ahead of me in the later books, which I am not looking forward to at all. I am halfway through the 5th book and already find myself wanting to skip any chapter where Nynaeve features prominently.

Did you attend the school you root for? by chb66in CollegeBasketball

[–]strangefool 1 point2 points ago

I did not attend UK. I could not afford to. I grew up in Kentucky and have always been passionate about them. I attended another state school.

And none of them are wrong. That's why CBB is amazing....and why prognosticating before the season has begun is silly.

I SAY UK IS GOING TO WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP AGAIN.

No one can prove me wrong right now. Also, Lehigh and Morehead State are equally in the running.

Oh, I fell into the "who else is a lock for the NBA" trap too. Sadly, the NBA doesn't draft on results anymore, and instead drafts on potential....and your incoming class has a TON of potential.

Douchebags downvoted it. It's happening a lot here lately.

I think you absolutely will be in the top 5 for the majority of the season, top 10 on your off weeks, or after a bad loss. You all are contenders for sure. I expect you to be major F4 contenders.

I know, if only they knew how much more valuable that extra year in college would be than their impending multi-million dollar NBA contracts. He's doing God's work, I tell you.

Serious note: does anyone really give a shit about Pitino paying some gold-digging scam artist to abort his baby? I suppose him fucking her is humorous, and does reflect a bit on his judgement, but really, who gives a shit?

I feel this post perfectly reflects this problem. As I post this, you are sitting at 4 upvotes and 3 downvotes.

Why? Seemed like a perfectly valid, innocuous response, with a bit of humorous schadenfreude thrown in for good measure.

Some of you people are fucking douchebags, I will just say it plain I suppose.

Your first "sentence" simply agreed that I sort of agreed with what you said previously, even though that's not what I said, really, as for Fact #2, you made my case, so why don't you elaborate on why you believe what you do about Calhoun....

...you know, seeings how you stated he took blame for violations, etc. Far from his first dance in the rodeo of insinuation that permeates CBB either, though I am sure you have never felt the need to defend the coach of your favorite program from what you perceived to be spurious attacks in the past, have you?

I like how you speak for 'Merica. Salute!

I also like how your program is, and always has been, the epitome of class in college basketball. I like what you are putting down here man. If the NCAA could just ban UK forever, college basketball would truly become the utopian sports paradigm it was meant to be.

Would subscribe to your newsletter.

So true. I have noticed, and posted about it lately. But if I talk about the rather obvious anti-UK downvote brigade that has grown exponentially lately, I am, just as you said, a "defensive and stupid UK fan."

It's a lose-lose situation at this point.

To be fair, the "anti-______" downvote brigade has been in effect for other teams at times as well. But UK is getting fucking hammered here lately. Awful quiet on the UNC academic fraud front though, eh?

I respect your dedication, but you kind of come off as just as much of a douchebag as some of these guys man. Sorry.

To be fair, there is a lot of seemingly anti-Cal stuff here....but this is news man. Accept it. Even if it's complete bullshit. Cal is as polarizing a coach as I have ever seen, anywhere. As long as Cal is as successful as he has been, well, grab your helmet, it's gonna be a bumpy ride for years. Hopefully we all get out unscathed at the end.

Quick, where is the UNC horde? Also a growing UofL and IU horde here.

Duke horde seems surprisingly small.

You're turrible. Just turrible.

Here are some facts for you...Fact #1: Cal may be shady (even though he has never been implicated by the NCAA in any wrongdoings, and has even been specifically cleared by them. But hey, yeah, CAPTAIN OF THE SHIP and all that, you are right.)

Again, I will give it to you, Cal may be shady.

Fact #2: Calhoun is absolutely, 100% proven shady. Deal. Get off your fucking high horse man.
