Today my girlfriend told me that she would never have kids with a guy with tattoos because she doesn't want her kids born with the tattoos of the father, as if they were passed genetically. My parents do that too. I'll let things cool a bit on the counter before putting them in, but not all the way to room temperature. I don't know how much of a difference it makes in electricity usage.

Neobux not calculating my click count properly. by fastr1337in beermoney

[–]stoaster 2 points3 points ago

On the bit about counting clicks wrong, the numbers it gives you(9,4,4,1) are specifically for the specific clicks that count towards getting credit from referrals. The micro exposures and purple fixed advertisements don't count for that.

I've noticed the link expired thing a few times, dunno what to tell you there.

New guy starting Monday. We thought we'd set up his new computer for him. by billwasherein funny

Hmm, I'm starting a job in an office Monday. I hope this isn't my set up.

When I was taking a driver's ed class, this kid was telling us all about his uncle's alcoholism and how the guy was down to one liver. He apparently had the other liver(s) removed.

When I was a teenager working at a KFC/Taco Bell, someone made the wrong chicken wrap, so it was going to be thrown away. Since it never even made it to the customer, I suggested that instead of wasting it, just put it in the fridge and I'd take it home for dinner when my shift was over in a couple hours(we took food home all the time). My manager seriously freaked out and said I couldn't have it in the fridge because putting something hot in the fridge is too fast of a temperature change and causes germs to grow. Instead, I should leave food on the counter until fully cooled before refrigerating it.

Thanks. I actually ended up getting an unrelated job, but I'll definitely keep this in mind for the future.

What vitamins or supplements should I be taking every single day? by Native411in Fitness

I take fish oil because my dad has had high cholesterol since they started testing for it and it's supposed to help a bit there. I don't think it does anything for muscle development though.

Gotcha, I typically only bother making one at my base of operations, but I guess that could be nice on the go.

Spoiler-free review of Diablo 3 by armorallin gaming

[–]stoaster 0 points1 point ago

My main gripe with Act 4 was the final boss. He just didn't seem as impressive and imposing as Diablo in D2. You basically just walk in and fight him. D2 did such a great job with having to battle a bunch of difficult enemies, release the seals which all meant even more enemies and then when Diablo is finally free, the screen shakes, he threatens you and looks tough. Big D was a bit disappointing in D3.

The game is great overall, but the end was a bit disappointing.

Why 2? I normally just have one and scoop up the source block after pouring it out.

Am I unlucky or are there no uniques in D3? by stoasterin diablo3

[–]stoaster[S] 2 points3 points ago

Good to know. I haven't even looked at the AH since I prefer to play single player and find/craft my own stuff.

Thanks, I was a bit confused considering how common it was to find them even on Act 1 in D2.

I have yet to play Diablo 3, but is it this bad? by Muttman10in gaming

[–]stoaster 0 points1 point ago

I only play single player or with my wife(possibly other relatives if they get the game), so the always online stuff gets at me a bit more. I've seen lag interfere a few times, though not catastrophically and have been a bit peeved when servers have gone down for maintenance. All in all, the game is awesome, but I think they deserve considerable criticism for the DRM.

The game itself is quite good. It isn't perfect, but it's a good followup to D2. The bad reviews are because of the horrible always online connection required.

Haha, s'ok. Shortly after I changed my settings to hide things I voted down, I forgot and started getting confused by these disappearing topics too.

Has anyone ever won anything from adprizes on Neobux? by mike5799in beermoney

[–]stoaster 0 points1 point ago

Neopoints are accumulated by viewing ads. You get 1 point per ad viewed. They can be used in place of money when you go to renew rented referrals. It's 133 neopoints or 10 cents to renew a referral for 15 days. I don't go out of my way for neopoints, but use them on occasion when they build up to be enough to renew something.

April review. Cashed out $145 with these sites. by stoasterin beermoney

[–]stoaster[S] 0 points1 point ago

Hits4Pay and Deals 'n' Cash can be in a window or tab that's not selected or even minimized.

Paidviewpoint is short surveys, so you'll need to actively be on it.

Topline is just small advertisements that will replace ads you would have seen otherwise, so just browse as normal.

Neobux is one where you cannot use a different tab within the same window, but can minimize the window and use another.

It doesn't appear to be in the spam filter and I'm seeing it as the first result on the subreddit.

[–]stoaster 0 points1 point ago

I won 10 neopoints at one time, but that's practically nothing. The odds of winning anything is very low, but some people have reported getting money or golden memberships out of it. I typically don't bother with the adprizes anymore.

I hadn't heard about those. I actually replayed Earthbound with rom a couple years ago and didn't run into anything like that. Interesting either way.

The Diablo 3 Double-Standard by TaxableBatin gaming

[–]stoaster 1 point2 points ago

I didn't downvote because you made a point, but because the point you made is bs. People have been complaining about the DRM since it was announced long before the release and since the release relevant forums have been a giant shitstorm of people complaining about it. Sure, most people still bought it(not everyone feels strongly enough about it to miss out on the game), but that doesn't mean they were cool with it.

Hopefully Blizzard will avoid this junk in the future after the backlash and having their user reviews come out so horribly, but I doubt it.
