Indy show tonight. Booed the faces, cheered the heels. Popped huge when this guy came out to Cult of Personality. by geoffevansin SquaredCircle

Booed the faces and cheered the heels, eh?

Allow me to go completely off-topic for a moment, if you don't mind.

When I just started watching wrestling, I cheered the faces and booed the heels, because I wanted the good guys to beat the bad guys. The bad guys did some pretty terrible stuff, like Tori and X-Pac, Kane's girlfriend and best friend at the time, gettin' it on behind Kane's back and then rubbing it (and a chair) in his face. They made me so mad, and I was happier than Jake Roberts in a swimming pool of Everclear when Kane chokeslammed them both straight to hell.

Then, I started becoming a "smark". I read the show reports, the backstage gossip, learned that Vince McMahon is more insane than his character and that the wrestling world outside of the WWF was HUGE AND FREAKIN' AWESOME. Japanese wrestlers were just so much better than those steroid freaks that were on TV every week, and if Christopher Daniels would just get signed, he'd be the best thing to ever happen to the Fed. Boo the heels! Cheer the faces! Fuck the system, man, I go against the grain 'cause I'm in the know! I cheer WORKRATE, not the stupid face/heel garbage that's shoved down my throat!

Then, I trained to become a pro wrestler. [I don't want to sound like one of those assholes who suddenly is the end-all authority on wrestling who knows more than any of those "dumb fucking marks" just because they put on a pair of boots and had a match in front of 7 people in a high school gym in Buttfuckerton, Pennsylvania, by the way. That's not my intent, and I don't believe it's true] I had a couple matches. I learned firsthand that as much of a cliche as it is, the crowd IS part of the show, just as much as anyone in or around the ring. My goodness, the feeling when you pull some heel bullshit and the crowd boos, or when you make a fighting comeback as a babyface and the crowd is with you on every punch, IT DOES, I swear to you it does, affect the quality of the match.

So now that I don't have the time or the energy (or the talent, I ain't gonna lie. I wasn't exactly Shawn Michaels) to look good and get booked and wrestle, I go to shows as a fan. I cheer the faces, and I boo the heels, because even if you think the heel is the better performer or the face is a douchenozzle, "playing the part" of the wrestling fan truly impacts what happens in the ring.

OK, sorry. Rant over.

Wrestler spends a minute talking about how his name is G-R-E-G-O-R-Y-[space]-I-R-O-N-[no S]

Gets called 'Gregory Irons' by someone who just watched the video

Also, yeah. He has cerebral palsy, which he made into his gimmick. He calls himself the Handicapped Hero and has sweet ring gear.

Also, when a heel spends the match working his crippled hand, it's damn cringeworthy.

Gleaning what I can of attitude and personality from these pictures, I would hate absolutely everything about this girl, and want her to be hit by a bus every time I saw her.

Her tits are nice though, so carry on.

I understand your statement, and it's a true one. The 'relationship' between white Americans and black Americans is different that the relationship between white Americans and Native Americans(/First Nations/"Indians"/etc), for example.

I'm confused about the point you're trying to make though. Is it "Oh, how we treat the Aborigines doesn't count, just look at how we treat immigrants and ignore that little bit of accepted racism"? That doesn't make much sense to me.

My experience with Australians included nearly-constant commentary about how "those abbo cunts" are ruining the country.

Solo developer here. After thousands of hours of coding, my first game finally hit the App store. I present to you: Infect the World! by InfectTheWorldin gaming

That's true, and a good example. Saints' (singular or plural? Unsure) Row and GTA are different games in the same genre, like Halo and Call of Duty.

This game seems a bit TOO similar to Pandemic for my liking though. The disease traits, the world map, the costs to get new symptoms, et cetera. The vast majority of the features and gameplay seem to be copied, almost verbatim, from Pandemic.

Granted, the developer makes mention of the "cause natural disasters!" feature in his posted image. If I made a Mario game that had a new flower item that let you shoot ice instead of fireballs, it would still be a Mario game ripoff.

And come on...if you have to say "Now before I get downvoted to death for copying Pandemic..." in the ad for your game, you already know the similarities are too big.

Considering the (deserved) hate that Zynga got for their shameless rip-off of Tiny Tower, do you feel that you are hurting the makers of Pandemic 2, which is currently being ported to the iPhone?

Edit: Actually, Pandemic 2.5 is already on sale in the App Store right here

My TF2/Borderlands crossover medic (work in progress) by stfnotguiltyin cosplay

[–]stfnotguilty[S] 0 points1 point ago

I spent a lot of hours playing through Borderlands as Mordecai, and I play Medic almost exclusively on TF2. Just felt like trying it. I had a full Medic costume that I wore to a convention last year, which is being dismantled for this one. Merging the two lets me be a bit more creative, instead of just trying to match every inch of a character model.

Green Day lets a kid play LEAD guitar on Jesus of Suburbia at a concert in Chicago! by LittleWallin videos

[–]stfnotguilty -2 points-1 points ago

Aw, that's actually really lame.

Billie Joe is worth $55 Million, and the band makes well over $100,000 per performance.

Don't get me wrong, I realize he's giving away a concert-played guitar for free, and hoping for a better guitar is the worst kind of looking a gift horse in the mouth...but the fact that he changes to a cheap guitar just makes me shake my head. Keep your vintage 1950's stuff, but at least let the fan have a real Gibson Les Paul! Basic ones are only a few hundred bucks more than an Epiphone!

If he can handle it, more power to him. I think that if I were in his position, I would never even want to go home. Living the dream, you know?

I just hope he really CAN handle it. I don't want to turn on the news and see a eulogy talking about how he was on 15 different anxiety and depression meds and decided to misuse his Bowflex like Benoit.

Any Wrestling Card Games...? by choobakkain SquaredCircle

[–]stfnotguilty 0 points1 point ago

There used to be a downright FANTASTIC online WWE card game called With Authority. It was pretty damn fun.

The company that ran the game went out of business, but I remember there being a server set up by some players a few years ago.

plagued by migraines her whole life, 2 years ago my mom learned trees completely cure them. me and my mom at a [6], happy mothers day. by matthandlersuxin trees

[–]stfnotguilty 4 points5 points ago

My mother has had debilitating migraines for a couple decades, and currently takes Maxalt (a prescription drug) to treat them. It doesn't work all the time, and I'm very interested in hearing more about your mom's experiences.

When you say smoking "completely cures" migraines, do you mean that the pain is absent while high? Does she not get a migraine for several days after the fact? Has she never had a migraine since smoking for the first time?

Any info you can give me would be appreciated, I hate to see my mom in pain =/
