Should have tried United Airlines. Honestly I think you are a little late especially for a summer internship, but there is always fall.

I hope you mean add an hour to when you'll stop. You can't add time to a 24 hours race?

Manual Reversion means you lost all hydraulics.

Edit: At least on the 737, I know this is true.

Tips for CFI training? by Aviator8989in flying

[–]spitfire5181 2 points3 points ago

Start making lesson plans, open the CFI PTS and start reading the introduction [Personally I wouldn't buy a PTS now because the FAA is in the process of updating them and they are free online.] Also the best advice I received was "start carrying a water bottle, as a CFI you will be talking a lot and therefore your mouth will be dry."

IamA well known European billionaire who is launching a new Airline in Africa, AMAA by [deleted]in IAmA

[–]spitfire5181 2 points3 points ago

How do you feel about hiring pilots from out of country? I was born and raised in the USA and have always wanted to work for an airline in Europe the more I look into it the harder it seems to do. Also what would you consider the most important personal philosophy that made you and your company so successful?

How come the MD-80's "3-2" seating layout doesn't throw it off balance? by CaterpillarKillrin aviation

[–]spitfire5181 2 points3 points ago

They would have people move. They still fill do the weight and balance calculations, every once in a while I've seen it asked if passengers can move for weight issues [especially true in small turbo-prop aircraft].

GT Academy 2012 Available NOW! by yourafagyourafagin GT5

2 of 8 Rounds open each has 5 events. So 10 events available until 5/13/2012, fairly easy so far used a controller and golded all events with minimal effort. Rnd 1 vehicle was a Nissan leaf, Rnd 2 vehicle was a Silvia both won in GT5 if you gold all events.

This video would be interesting. My advice would be just learn what you're getting yourself into especially for airline pilots [well in the U.S. at least]. I went to an aviation school, graduated and am working as an instructor for the school now. I have seen a lot of my peers drop out and/or change careers because they found out it was a lot different then what they initially thought. Expect to spend $40+ for flight training to get your commercial certificate and 250 hrs, most build hours by instructing CFI/II. Get hired by a regional airline when you have 1500hrs and then just move up the ranks to a major airline. If you have any more specific questions I'll do my best to answer them.

Edit: $40,000+ not $40 dollars.

What do you think you would want to do as a pilot? I think the biggest thing is don't expect to make a lot of money as a pilot. I have a feeling a lot of people will say to get a well paying job and just fly for fun on the weekends, which could be another option you can consider.

Is there any support for merging all of the aviation-related subreddits into one? by dog_in_the_ventin aviation

[–]spitfire5181 4 points5 points ago

Nope...I think a majority of all the sub-reddits listed are different enough that they deserve their own /r. Most of the subscribers on /r/Pilots moved to /r/Flying because the mod went awol. I say if you like them all just use [reddit.com/r/pilots+flying+aviation+aviationpics+helicopters+ATC+flightsim](htttp://www.reddit.com/r/pilots+flying+aviation+aviationpics+helicopters+ATC+flightsim)

Military, but if you're in the U.S. I don't know of any such program for civilian pilots.
