This is much more admirable attempt, but as a scientist, I wouldn't call the field of psychology 'hard science.' Regardless of nit picking, I don't disagree that attraction and compatibility drives relationships; I'm disagreeing with the sweeping 'this is how girls think' comments you wrote earlier.

Nah, I don't buy it. I think you're mistaking differences in culture with scientific data. For example, I have a friend named Kevin who dresses like a hobo, so often that it's become his nickname (ripped jeans, shirts that are usually unwashed, ball caps from the 80s). This man pulls more fish in a month than I could in a year.

If you're observing clubs looking for conclusions about relationship and attraction issues then you're taking only a tiny percentage of the population. Of course it's only going to be attractive people, it's a club. You're not going to see overtly obese people at a gym.

I don't buy it.

It's kind of cliche, but gum really does work. Whenever I go to a convenience store and think of buying a pack I'll get a different flavor of gum, and usually chew it while outdoors.

I would even be willing to reconsider fracking if, and this is a big if, alternative energy was fully explored and shown to be entirely unable to supply the energy needs we need as a nation. But since alternative energy is not being pushed to its limit and explored in such a way, I cannot accept fracking as a viable source of energy.

Big oil industries have patents on all of these alternative energy sources, and are funding the production of them. However, until peak oil is reached they are not going to be rolled out. Money, man.

It's unlikely that those dry oil wells would be around areas of magmatic activity, seeing how those are at tectonic boundaries (and change quite quickly, so no oil/gas).

Edit:

I was thinking in terms of generating electricity. As far as heating/cooling your house or buildings with holes from drills, yeah that's probably doable.

Interesting article, best part is closer to the end where it says

“There has never been sufficient investigation whether or not fracking is to blame [for ground water contamination],”

Thing is, yeah fracking 'chemicals' are 'contaminating' the ground water with... water, sand, and a lubricant. It's harmless. It's not putting methane in your ground water, the methane was there ages before you even drilled a hole in the ground for drinking purposes, let alone fracking purposes.
