TROPHY CASE

UNDERWEAR!!! by Coriirocwithscissorsin BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 4 points5 points ago

Maybe it's just a matter of time, but my regular bikini cut underwear still fit and are comfortable. But I also don't really like the full belly panel pants, so maybe it's just a personal preference thing.

I will, however, join you in your celebration of underwear since I just ordered a bunch from Victoria's Secret (7 for $26). I figure this will free me up to ruin the one's that are starting to wear out now with postpartum stuff.

This woman is the very definition of "hero" in my book. More people should know about her. She almost single-handedly saved an entire generation of Americans. by KazamaSmokersin wikipedia

She did her job and she did it well. That deserves to be commended. But is she a hero? Meh, not really.

Aww, 4-year-old gets in trouble for having some bitchin' hair. She gets an A+ in fabulousness in my book. by Safariannain TwoXChromosomes

Does anyone else get a "Toddlers and Tiaras" vibe from this? It may not violate the dress code but it is quite "diva-ish" for a 4 year old.

I'm not terrified of giving birth... by flashtigerin BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 1 point2 points ago

I read the first two sentences and thought: oh, that's good, I'm not that old and I'm healthy. Then I continued reading and thought: oh crap, 30 is kind of old in the pregnancy context.

Mama got crafty!! (2) by AdjectiveAdverbin BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 1 point2 points ago

Cute! I did a similar thing last weekend only I covered the letters with scrapbooking paper in stripes and polka dots. (Note my lower level of crafting ability - I do not own paints). I may post pics once they're varnished and up on the nursery wall.

Well, I might join the diabetes- gang! by persnorkelongin BabyBumps

Eh, if you're borderline, you'll probably be fine with the 3-hr. That's what happened to me. They cast a pretty wide net with the 1-hr.

Why is this happening to me? :( by JessicaBunnehin BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 1 point2 points ago

The uncertainty and anxiety of it all really does suck. I went through this too along with some worse bleeding incidents a bit later. Thankfully, everything's been great since the end of the first trimester. I hope that things work out for you too.

You're right that the doctors won't be able to do anything, but my guess is that they'll send you for an ultrasound at least to rule an ectopic pregnancy.

What is your favorite online store when it comes to buying clothes for your baby? by samandstuffin BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 0 points1 point ago

My style is more classic than hip, so I got some things from Old Navy and some from Carter's, both while they were having sales. I think Gap's baby clothes are absolutely adorable, but they seem overpriced.

Stomach sleeping? by timeforstarsin BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 0 points1 point ago

But how? I sleep on my side leaning towards the bed rather than being totally perpendicular, but I can't imagine turning any further over.

I just found out I'm pregnant, and of all days we could find out, it was on Mother's Day:D by bunny1979in TwoXChromosomes

But this also means there's no placenta to filter things out.

Anyone with a big ol' bump still have an innie belly button, or do they all pop out? by vinglebinglein BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 0 points1 point ago

I have piercing holes that did that too. It kind of makes it look like 3 bellybuttons.

Anyone with a big ol' bump still have an innie belly button, or do they all pop out? by vinglebinglein BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 1 point2 points ago

The top edge of mine sticks out, but the rest of it is basically flat and will usually revert to a slight innie when I lie down. Either way it's not particularly cute...

The Teacher Pet by JimKBin comics

This made me laugh out loud since panel #3 is exactly how I spent last night and panel #2 is exactly how I felt this morning. I'll have to watch out for carnivorous administrators.

What did you call your bump prior to knowing "it's" sex or prior to birth? by Mstrutsin BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 0 points1 point ago

But, you know, the Australian meaning is pretty appropriate too. After all, she did (half) start out as that kind of sprog.

What did you call your bump prior to knowing "it's" sex or prior to birth? by Mstrutsin BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 2 points3 points ago

Sproggy, because sprog is apparently a British word for schoolchildren. I thought it was a cute word so she became sproggy.

Baby girl name idea ... hear me out! :) by DirtyWhoreMouthin BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 1 point2 points ago

I like the name and considered it myself, but isn't it usually pronounced "dahl-ya"? That's at least how Dahlia Lithwick at Slate pronounces her name.

Sudden weight gain, anyone? by CaptainPattonin BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 0 points1 point ago

Similar to you, I had a 7 pound gain between my 21 and 25 week appointments. I just went for my 29 week appointment yesterday and found out I hadn't gained anything, but my belly is the right size. My doctor's not worried since my total gain of about 15 pounds is right on target. Conclusion: pregnancy weight gain patterns can be weird.

My mom bought me a maternity top, and I'm not even married. Crazy Mom rant! by sassylain TwoXChromosomes

[–]snuggleslut 3 points4 points ago

It's also just plain ridiculous that she got it for "just in case." No one ever needs maternity clothes suddenly - pregnancy doesn't work that way.

WTH is the glass floor? How is it that we think this is a real thing? by serrabellumin TwoXChromosomes

[–]snuggleslut 4 points5 points ago

Okay, but a lot of dirty jobs like garbage collecting and construction aren't really low paid in comparison to something like fast food.

WTH is the glass floor? How is it that we think this is a real thing? by serrabellumin TwoXChromosomes

[–]snuggleslut 4 points5 points ago

A quick google search turns up this article which defines the glass floor as barriers like the cost of childcare that prevent women from entering the workforce. This idea of a glass floor makes sense to me, but the comments you pointed to seem like nothing more than men's rights bullshit.

Clothing for Plus-Sized Mommies-To-Be by ladyfriend37in BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut 0 points1 point ago

I second the idea of being willing to splurge on pants that you really like. I spent more than I normally would spend on normal jeans on a pair of maternity jeans, but haven't regretted it a bit.

Since babies like black and white patterns, how about Dazzle Camouflage as a nursery theme? by snuggleslutin BabyBumps

[–]snuggleslut[S] 0 points1 point ago

Note: The professional historian in me kind of wants to do this, but the fact that baby's nursery area will be in our bedroom means we're going with blue, green, and fluffy sheep.

Still, maybe there should be a mobile with dazzle camouflage ships...
