TROPHY CASE

How searching for a decent apartment in Seattle makes me feel by pentium4borgin Seattle

[–]sn0wright 0 points1 point ago

I just found an apartment in the Roosevelt neighborhood. I haven't moved to Seattle yet, but was lucky enough to have a friend check it out for me and give me the ok. Seeing this post really makes me happy that I already have an apartment in the works once I finally fly up there.

I normally would enjoy some post processing of this nature if it fits the scene, but now that I'm hunting for apartments in Seattle, I am seeing HDR photos of apartments, and its almost sickening. I could care less about this type of post processing right now.

Looking to find a psychologist in the Seattle area by notanaccountin Seattle

[–]sn0wright 0 points1 point ago

Hey, glad you're looking to get some help for your depression and anxiety. Having gone through something similar last year, I definitely feel that seeing a psychologist helped me out a lot.

I'm actually just going to be moving there next month so I don't have any advice on who to see, but I did find mines through the internet. I did some google searching and even looked up yelp reviews. As for costs, I believe there have been new laws enacted recently that requires health insurance to cover mental illnesses. Here's some info I found about it. http://www.wapsych.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=135. Back here at home, my copay was $20 per visit, if that helps.

Lastly, hang in there! I know its a difficult time but you will get through it.

Yeah, I would actually be living in an apt on the 45th. Good thing is the bus I'm looking to ride to downtown is 511 (google maps ftw) and its nearby the apartment. And the more I think about it, the Wallingford apartment does seem to be the better choice.

Thanks for the reply. That is good to hear about the neighborhood. I'm glad I'm not looking at properties associated with Hugh Sisley.

I'm also looking at the Wallingford area. I really like that its a more centralized location to places of interest to me (U District, Downtown Seattle, Greenlake, Fremont/Ballard area).

Not to derail from the posting, but I'm actually moving to Seattle next month and found a possible apartment to rent out in that area. How safe is that neighborhood? I'll be moving with my fiancee and dog, and we enjoy walking our dog around our neighborhood here at home and we'd love to be able to do the same up there.

Cheers!

I have a phone interview and I have a few questions by throwawaycatboxin jobs

[–]sn0wright 0 points1 point ago

Totally agree with this, yet I still find it hard while going through the job interviewing process to always follow.

Always remember, It's about the process and not the end result. So you need to prepare for the process.

If you dont get the job even if you tried your best, try to look at it as a learning experience. What did you do right, what did you do wrong, so you can improve on your process the next time around. And stay positive! You can control your process but you have no control over the interviewers so no sense going into the negative if you know in your heart you did everything you could to land the job. Good luck!

Anyone here a/know a pyschologist? by Derpstonin jobs

[–]sn0wright 0 points1 point ago

I know you probably mean well but I definitely wouldn't recommend telling OP don't go into a field he's interested in. For all we know, he could potentially be the bill gates of the psychology world! It's definitely helpful to describe your experiences going through school, etc. so he gets an idea of what it takes to become one though.

From personal experience, companies in SF are also doing this. So far many of the companies I've come across are looking for "entry level with 3+ years of experience, be proficient with 15+ languages, etc".

Secret Recipe? Family Recipe? Don't Do It! by freethisin food

[–]sn0wright 1 point2 points ago

I think whats worse is having someone not want the family recipe because they're too lazy to get the recipe from their parents and their parents are willing to give it off. I have a friend who'se really not that interested in cooking, but I've been trying to get him to get the recipe anyways. Been a few months, and still not biting. I"m ready to go sweet talk his mom into giving me the recipe!

Not going to lie, just learned from a coworker how to pronounce awry properly. Before today, I've been saying it as "aww-ree."

And for the longest, I've been pronouncing the "l" in salmon.

In my defense, English is my second language.

Thanks for creating this! I have friend whose mom can cook the best damn vietnamese soups I've ever tasted (pho, bun bo hue, you name it!). Anyway, I suggested that he should learn how to prepare these dishes, so I could in turn swipe the recipe from him but he tells me he doesn't want to because he's too lazy. This will suffice for now! Thanks :)

Traded him + Antonio Brown for Tim Tebow + Jahvid Best. Overall happy with my trade (even though Best got concussion and Tebow is getting hammered). The person i traded with was just glad he got Antonio Brown in the process.

Although, their friend should have just respawned on them!

In need of a decent, affordable bike by Project_Atroin whichbike

You can find a pretty decent hybrid bike for less than $500 bucks. I would suggest checking out your local Bicycle store. They would be able to help you find one in your price range. Some name brands I would look for would be Trek, Cannondale and Giant. Also, ask them if they have any older models available. These would usually still be brand new but will be discounted.
