do this for all tv shows! It's always incredibly difficult to find out if any show is new. The easiest way I have found is using the show's wiki page.

I'm currently a math teacher but I'm thinking about going into the compsci field. I have a math degree, should I be aiming for a compsci masters or undergrad? by sjwillisin needadvice

Excellent fucking post. Exactly what I was looking for. How would I be able to prove myself to a potential employer without any prior work experience or a degree? Also, I'm starting with most of the basics, but I think I will enjoy it and do well in the field. What ways would you recommend that I learn these different programs?

Interesting. I'm more into which ever field is going to be more lucrative, (non academic). Which is more open right now? Would it behoove me to get to bachelor's? Is there any certification that I could get that would beat out or be comparable to a degree in an employer's eyes?

All technological innovations are a product of evolution... by Khephranin StonerPhilosophy

[–]sjwillis 0 points1 point ago

2001: A Space Odyssey. Aliens gave humans the ability to create and use tools. This is shown at the first of the film/book, when chimps use a bone to kill their prey.

Later in the film/book, one of our tools, HAL9000 becomes irate and chooses to destroy the crew members.

Our tools evolved to the point of killing us by their own choice. Perhaps tools are the product of evolution and we are simply the outlet for them to be created?

Whatever it is all leading to might just be the eventual outcome of the universe. We are unintentionally creating the purpose of everything.

Is there a family tree for fields of math? by Scalawagin learnmath

[–]sjwillis 1 point2 points ago

I'm afraid that what your asking isn't going to be organized in an easy to read fashion. Since there are so many branches of mathematics, and those branches and go into other subbranches and split off in so many ways, then you wouldn't really be able to look at a singular tree.

That is just my take on it though.

If I leave my vacuum on will we all suffocate? by TheLoveKrakenin shittyaskscience

[–]sjwillis 4 points5 points ago

oh boy, then if you were planning on leaving your vacuum on for long periods of time, i would suggest heading over to www.amazon.com and see if you can buy some light.

I'm not sure what the shipping would be like, since it goes by weight, it probably shouldn't be too bad. Also, when looking at a seller, look at people from Hawaii or maybe Africa. Since those are near the equator, then they are known as have a phenomenon as 'greenhouse gases'. This is when a place has a lot of plants and too much air is created in a particular area and the protective shield, the 'stratosphere', begins to give way to the space-vacuum and more sunlight gives way to the Earth. In these areas, they will harness that precious sunlight and ship it directly to you! This light is much more viable to creating your own stratosphere.

I can ship you some too, just be careful!

If I leave my vacuum on will we all suffocate? by TheLoveKrakenin shittyaskscience

[–]sjwillis 13 points14 points ago

No no no. Think about the outer space. It is a vacuum that is always on, right? Now, do we run out of air? No!

That's because the earth is protected by a protective shield, known as the 'stratosphere'. This is when the Sunlight reflects off of the clouds creating a photon-photon reaction that blocks air from escaping the planet's orbit.

Now, since your vacuum most likely has light on it, that means that a photon-photon reaction is occurring while the vacuum is operational. Therefore, the beautiful blue air we all love will stay safe!
