A few years ago on Halloween I had no costume, so I went to Goodwill with the intention of buying random things and putting a costume together on a whim. I found a penguin and a hat and put them together, and that was my costume for the evening. The immense amount of smiles and compliments from that night (and during ski trips) inspired me to eventually turn it into an actual product!

  1. I can assure you that no penguins are harmed in the making of Penguin Hats. When we use actual penguins, we only use those who volunteer willingly to be made into a hat, or those who are "into that sort of thing."
  2. Yes.

I can assure you that there are indeed people who want a penguin sitting on their head :) Right now we only have hats for those who prefer not to wear helmets, but we are looking into doing helmet covers for next season.
