I keep waking myself up randomly, what's happening? by eskimopie26in AskReddit

There is no "askmedicine" because you are not allowed to ask for medical advice on Reddit. This will probably be deleted, go to your doctor.

I really don't understand all these arguments for "they are just doing their job"... how does getting a pay check make it ok? If someone were getting paid to call houses with children and make them cry would it be ok, because they are getting paid?

Actually, you are probably seeing "floaters" which is a very common issue. This is different.

I just had $2000 stolen from me, probably from my employees. What do I do reddit? by 70camaroin AskReddit

[–]shabatooo 0 points1 point ago

Is there any reason why anyone besides yourself would have touched the safe for any normal reason in the past? If not, hire a private company to dust for prints on the safe. If they find any prints on the safe that aren't yours, ask all of your employees to be fingerprinted and you have your thief.

I think Greeting Cards are a huge waste of money. What other "niceties" do you think are a waste of money too? by mrmaddnessin AskReddit

[–]shabatooo -6 points-5 points ago

Everyone likes to hate on diamonds but the reality is that it fulfills a very specific need (regardless of how stupid that need is) and if you got rid of every diamond in the world it would just be filled by something else of an equally ungodly amount of money.

If I buy an island am I allowed to do whatever I want on it? by yibgibin AskReddit

[–]shabatooo 2 points3 points ago

I can't believe the amount of misinformation in these responses. Every island in the world is the territory of SOME existing government. You would have the live by the laws of that country / state just like you would if you lived in Anytown, CA, you just have a little more water around you.

a "crazy ex" who he "hasn't been talking to" just doesn't randomly one day decide to come out of the woodwork and try to ruin this guys life... clearly there has been some communication going on between the two of them.

Step one: Grow a set of balls Step two: Talk to our boyfriend instead of talking about it on Reddit

What is being rich actually like? by conrado9001in AskReddit

Yea I agree, and this is an extreme example also. I just mean that everyone's mental state reaches some sort of equilibrium and stress levels between two people lives might be the same for very different scenarios.

Today marks 42 years since the Kent State Massacre, when Government murdered 4 Anti-War protesters for practicing the First Amendment by Knight0fCydoniain politics

I would consider "shooting" a pretty effective crowd control technique.

What is being rich actually like? by conrado9001in AskReddit

[–]shabatooo 0 points1 point ago

But its all relative, if a rich persons car breaks down it might be the same level of stress to them as it would be to a poor person. Your right that when a third party compares both the rich person's situation is FAR less serious but in HIS head, he might feel the same level of stress because of the inconvenience as someone whose life is ruined by the same event. People get used to their situations, the stress levels are the same, they are just about different things.

Here's the thing. everyone becomes accustomed to their position in life. Its kind of like the laws of physics, you only feel the acceleration, but you feel motionless at speed. Life is the same way, you only feel the changes in your position in life. At rest, no matter what your status (as long as you can afford the basic necessities), anyone can achieve the same level of happiness, because they are comfortable where they are, and have hope, have something to look forward to. Whether that is a bigger yacht, or a bigger studio apartment, it doesn't really matter, because that is what you have come to know and accept. Being rich doesn't make you any happier, it just changes your acceleration requirements.

Your're congratulating them because they have both decided to spend the rest of their lives together... I wouldn't want to have to go around congratulating my friend bob every week because he got a new girlfriend.
