I'd say the right way is getting the most value from the best investors. you want multiple offers if possible.

Other recommendations:

start using something like quickbooks, so you can easily show financials and that financials are being watched and understood.
simple statistics about growth and profit are helpful
Most importantly, ask for the sale. If you genuinely want their money, infer that together they can help you grow and ask if they're available for a presentation soon.

show problem / competition and what they're doing wrong
Show realistic view of market size. Include only relevant numbers.
Show a summary of your solution, with estimated costs and profitability at different sizes of market penetration. / like 100 customers / 1000 / 10000 etc.
