Some cups I've been working on for a few months. This is the best batch so far! by sarasalsin Pottery

They are functional. The little flicks at the bottom actually don't cause too much of a problem, believe it or not. I tried to make them relatively dull so they wouldn't catch on anything, and they've been bumped into walls and whatnot many times and they haven't broken.

It's called "5x2 Yellow." It's glaze I got from my professor. It's on a red stoneware, fired to Cone 10 Redux.

He will always have a special place in my heart as "my first Doctor" since I hadn't seen the show before him. He's the reason I became so engaged so quickly. I prefer him to Matt Smith, but it's a dead tie with Tennant.

I want to start drinking wine. Please help me start and offer suggestions by SaltyWafflezin wine

If you'd like some sweeter wines, try Malbecs, red zins, riojas and pinot noirs. I'm a huge fan of red spanish wines that have both a touch of dryness and sweetness. Campo Viejo Riojas are very good and generally around 10-15 bucks a bottles. I recently tried a wine called Gnarly Head Old Vine Zin which was a very good red zinfandel, also around $15.

Just keep trying wines and you'll definitely find something you like :)

here ya go! I'd redraw them to make them look better if I were you. Both names are written twice in different ways, both should be correct, but written differently. Hope this helps!

edit: sorry for the crappy pictures.

What are their names? Maybe I can write them up for you...

I believe the writing is non-canon. This version was created by Loren Sherman. I found a couple different versions of gallifreyan in my quest to find the guide, and I'm not sure any of them are from any of the books or from the show. This is just the only one that really made sense.

yup! The vowels don't have to be connected to the preceding consonant.

I believe the "i" would be right in the middle of the "n" circle. It would look something like this. I use this guide for vowels. Hope this helps!

I learned to do it here, but like River_Song said, you can search for Gallifreyan on deviantart. He has a couple tutorials. Make sure you look at his one tutorial about vowels.

There used to be site that was by Loren Sherman (or so I've read) but I can't find it.

It reads: "Think you've seen it all? Think again. Outside those doors, we might see anything. We could find new worlds, terrifying monsters, impossible things. And if you come with me... nothing will ever be the same again!"

I've been looking for a way to jailbreak it, but I haven't found a way to do it. Or my google-fu isn't what it used to be. I actually have a pdf file with the image of the tardis saved in my kindle.... I pretend it's my screensaver...

Thank you! It's the Doctor's name :) There are too many awesome quotes that I could've used from the series (I have a Gallifreyan font so I tried some quotes that filled up the back piece) but I like this design a lot better. I think it's a lot simpler and more elegant.

Good California wines? by [deleted]in wine

[–]sarasals 2 points3 points ago

if you're a fan of reds and don't mind a good Zinfandel, try Gnarly Head old vine Zin. I loved it and it's only around 15 bucks a bottle! There are also a fair amount of good cabernet sauvignons from CA, too :) Ask the workers at your local state store when you're there about some good wines, that's what I always do :) Hope this helps!
