I'd keep it. When I was a kid, there was this woman across the street who owned several cats and neglected all of them. One cat in particular took a liking to our house, and would sneak in over and over again. Eventually we got tired of kicking her out and just let her stay. That was 12 years ago, and the cat is still alive and kicking at my mother's house.
