actually, there's some really interesting work on how different languages manage information differently. for instance, in german, the fact that they have gendered determiners, allows them to have correspondingly more nouns, but fewer adjectives (compared to a language like English).

French and Spanish have noun drop, though, which should complicate things. Like, I know in French you can simply say "pass me the red" instead of "pass me the red cup." I don't think there have been any comparative studies done though... I was just browsing through Google scholar.
