I remember hearing a story about Bill Murray being very specific about the final scene in the movie Groundhog Day. If I remember correctly, he refused to shoot the scene until the director/writers had come to a consensus on what his character Phil would be wearing when they woke up the next morning. Just makes it hard for me to believe Murray would let a similar error slip through.

Yeah, I just went to their website. They look a little more organized than they used to be. The whole "memorize verses to earn points and get a crappy bookmark" memory sounds right up their alley. A lot of small church's programs take their cues from AWANA. On the whole, not a bad way to get kids within the religion to memorize scripture, but it can be incredibly awkward to outsiders.

I'd hate to say it, but the "Christian Culture" machine (Sunday School curriculum, AWANA clubs and other church school products) are a big part of it. My dad always amazed me with his ability to do this. He uses an ESV bible for preaching and studying, but at the pulpit, when he quotes anything from the scripture, he quotes in the King James. I used to give him crap for it, but he went to a "fundementalist" church in the 60s, and went through church school programs that emphasized scripture memory as a little kid. It's something that I think should be re-introduced into the modern church sans the indoctrination/"training God's army" imagery.

Wow. Interesting. I never would have thought to use it as a call-in security camera. I just installed Skype recently and dug through the options to make sure there wasn't such a feature enabled. I can't imagine the trouble it has probably caused some folks!
