TROPHY CASE

Informal questionnaire, would anyone be willing to participate? by LMGRLin keto

[–]rockinchizel 0 points1 point ago

  1. 23, M, 6'1", SW 295#, CW 237#

  2. I didn't take measurements at the start, but body fat and inches have dropped since I first measured them (about a third of the way through keto)

  3. Started November 1st after a lovely (read disgusting) Halloween binge

  4. I tracked for the first few months, but now that I have the hang of it I no longer track.

  5. I don't have a calorie goal in mind at the start of each day, mostly just a carb limit.

  6. I usually eat my first meal at 12:30 and my last by 7:30, so yes, I do 16/8 or 8/16 fasting.

  7. I exercise regularly, Crossfit 3-5 times per week.

  8. Hunger levels are fine. Usually dinner I make myself eat so that I don't get hungry as I try to fall asleep. Hunger level has dropped significantly since starting keto.

  9. Not typically

  10. The point of a diet isn't to make you unhappy and a martyr. I eat, drink and am merry when the time comes for it. I have thrown out all of the oreos but that doesn't stop me from having some tiramisu on my birthday.

  11. Very little. Most comes from cheeses and deli meats. I have not notices adverse effects of this (I poop daily, so I assume I am getting enough fiber).

  12. Not really concerned about it, though I take a decent amount of supplements.

  13. Not really. There are a lot of things that are keto that I don't really eat (heavy cream, ranch, mayonaise), but nothing that I've left in.

  14. Snoring is less loud since I don't take such deep breaths... But no, not really.

The elementary school I grew up on has a roof that is super easy to get on to. Sometimes it's nice to go up there and look at the stars. It's also a great height to drop soda bottle rockets made from 2 liters of diet coke and mentos.

I love the game because nothing beats it in terms of strategy. It's like poker with a 15,000 card deck. It's like dungeons and dragons, but without the semantic bickering that accompanies it. It's like every bridge, but you make your own luck. The strategy of coming up with a deck, combined with trying to figure out what your opponent is holding, and then trying to navigate a complex series of interactions to make the right move, it's just awesome.

I play mostly Legacy and dabble in limited. I used to play standard, but the area I moved to doesn't have a big standard scene and it wasn't worth keeping a standard deck around to only play once a month. Our Legacy scene is much more vibrant. I play Eva Green and Fish, because I don't really have the cards or money to build anything else, but on occasions I borrow a friends deck and get to try something like Enchantress or Storm.

I am located in the Boulder area in Colorado.

Will be starting Crossfit in 2-4 weeks and I'm horribly out of shape. What can I do now so I don't get my ass completely kicked? by urracain crossfit

Push-ups, pull-ups if you can manage them, sit-ups, and most importantly, squats. But don't just do air squats (squats without a barbell, body weight squats). Make sure to practice them correctly. Feet shoulder width apart, feet turned out about 30 degrees from straight ahead, knees tracking out over the feet as you go down, going down below parallel, and keeping your chest up at the bottom. It's a lot to take in, but all necessary to do a good squat. Really focus on not letting your knees come in together towards the center as you stand up.

Losing weight but not in ketosis? by herdlessponyin keto

[–]rockinchizel 0 points1 point ago

Sorry, I just feel like people around here spend a bit too much worry on turning that stick purple. If you're not eating carbs and you're losing weight and you're not hungry, that sounds good. You don't need to be in ketosis to lose weight. Many people have lost weight by cutting calories, so if you're eating fewer calories you could be losing weight from that.

What is the ULTIMATE bacon cheeseburger formula? by SashaTheBOLDin keto

[–]rockinchizel 0 points1 point ago

I think there needs to be ground bacon along with ground beef in the burger patty itself, then there needs to be bacon (3 slices) and a fried egg on top of the patty. Furthermore, I believe that the 2 slices of cheese should be different, i.e. sharp cheddar and mozzarella

Can someone help explain this magic of cream cheese? by handingoutupvotesin keto

[–]rockinchizel 1 point2 points ago

I noticed that Philadelphia is 1g carb per serving which means <12g carbs per brick, while Kroger brand was 2g carb per serving which means <20g carbs per brick

Can someone help explain this magic of cream cheese? by handingoutupvotesin keto

[–]rockinchizel 2 points3 points ago

Cream cheese is awesome. If you buy Philadelphia, the whole brick of cream cheese has <12g carbs. That means you can eat an entire block of cream cheese in a day and still be under your 20g limit. I don't know anyone who could do that, but it's super rich and tasty and low carb
