Funny how you can literally be one of the best baseball players in the world, and still languish in some podunk independent league. Worldwide talent pools for these major sports just blow my mind.

They are absolutely unfairly demonized. Steroids are a valuable addition to athletics in general and are very beneficial when used properly. The biggest and loudest voices against steroids are those of absolutely clueless people.

ANYTHING is bad in excess. Water will kill you if you drink too much of it. Steroids are no different. They are great when regulated and administered professionally.

As for the players, I think it's unfair for any of them to be blacklisted from the HoF or for their numbers to be stricken or asterisked. Just total reactionary, irrational BS by "purist" fans that have a narrow, blind zealotry for "The Game," with a total disregard for the human beings that actually play it and dedicate their lives to it.

Sorry for the rant. Not really directed at you. Just needed somewhere to put my thoughts down after reading this article. You just gave me a good jumping off point :D

Honestly he got really lucky in the early innings. Rangers were getting tons of great swings on him. He escaped by the skin of his teeth allowing a lot of hard contact then just shut them down for the rest of the game. So props to being an ace through and through, even when he doesn't have his real A game that day...

Ogando was a starting pitcher last year; I doubt his arm has fallen off to the point where he can't pitch more than a couple innings. Modern pitchers' arms are so mollycoddled...

I just believe in having the best pitchers on the team pitch the most innings, if they are physically capable of doing so.

Besides, the starter for Feliz probably isn't going to be pitching 6+ innings unless the PC is low. 5 IP is the more likely expectation.

I'd rather have Ogando pitch 5 or 6 innings than 2 1/3 innings. Texas has Adams, Nathan, Uehara and Ross in the pen right now, all pitching very well.

Christ he's maybe the 3rd best pitcher the Rangers have and he is so fucking under-utilized. Here's a GOLDEN opportunity. Here is WHY you put Ogando in the bullpen after being an All-Star his first year as a starter, so he'd be there for shit like this.

Fuck it... maybe I'll get to see Ogando throw 15 pitches over the next week or so. That'd be nice.

It's really annoying hearing people continually badmouth the A's. It's a great organization with incessantly awesome pitching talent.

The A's are the competition in the AL West right now. Not very formidable competition, but they're still the team to beat in the division, at the moment.

And these Ranger fans that are badmouthing a team like the A's have probably repressed their memories of the 2010 World Series, where a team with excellent pitching crushed the Rangers, despite having what was essentially a Triple-A lineup that got hot for a little while.
