Mcintosh help! by rickman1011in vintageaudio

[–]rickman1011[S] 0 points1 point ago

I'm a huge fan of DeoxIt as well. I've already tried fiddling with the knobs but might as well get some cleaner... would be nice if something as simple as this was the problem.

Unfortunately money is tight right now so a DIY fix is more likely. I have the majority of tools I need to test and repair minus an oscilloscope. I'm assuming just measuring voltage differences between the components on the two sides with constant (sine?) input is probably a good place to start?

May I have some constructive feedback? by gdrocksin photoshop

Given the subject material would destructive feedback not be more appropriate sir?

Awesome. I've got a Mcintosh MA5150 but used to have one of the big old pioneers... forget the exact model but it was SX-*** and weighed about 50lbs. I almost got dahlquist DQ-10s myself, ended up with double large advents. Lets rep the vintage together!

Is that a mcintosh hiding in the middle there?

Me and my buddy (photographer) are starting a video series showcasing genres. Let me know what you think of the first one! by syfr1221in DJs

As both a photographer/videographer and a DJ I really agree that some effects lighting (like color strobe/wash LED panels) could add a significant amount of excitement to the vid. If you dont' want to get too flashy at least light him with some flattering fill lights. Seems like room ambient in this video and just seems rather muted for such an exciting background track

Trying to decide between 2 Primes and the Canon 24-70 L by RodneyCharmsin photography

[–]rickman1011 0 points1 point ago

As far as Nightclub photography you most definitely should go with the 24-70 or an even wider zoom. I've been working as the house photographer for multiple venues in town for years with a 24-70. It's been absolutely beautiful and really shines when there's something on stage worth taking pictures of. However, when doing group shots and VIP booths and such I find myself having to back up far too often. The 50 and the 85 would be pretty much useless, esp if you have a crop body. Pains me to say those things about such beautiful pieces of glass though :(

18, needs a change in hair style help by Choogzin malehairadvice

[–]rickman1011 1 point2 points ago

I came here to say just what polerawkaveros said. Buy some light wax and just mess it up every morning. Make sure it doesn't clump up in your palms. Just get it cut every month or so and keep it at that length and it'll practically style itself after a while.

I work as a nightclub and party photographer all around Tally. If you go out there's a good chance we've seen each other.
