Looking for help with high-fidelity 3D models by rhygaarin gamedev

The problem with Google is that it doesn't take advantage of the experience of the masses. A list of dozens of shops around the globe does nothing to help me focus in on firms that others have had good luck with.

I see you're at least keen enough to catch on to the snappy bro-love. Let's try this again.

You're awesome and witty. <your turn now..>

Nice one, bro. Pretty sure your snappy retort ends this, doesn't it? Tell ya what, if I tell you how awesome and witty you are, will you go back to your warehouse?

I didn't downvote shit. I thought it was an interesting set of videos. Try not to presume my views of 'impending doom' because I post something I thought was kind of cool.

However, have an upvote, perhaps it will calm your rage, and prevent you from being a neckbeard next time.

But what if my ideas include lazers, hobos, cats? (Which I stole btw)

Anyone in the Game Design courses give me some information? by Timmcdin uofu

[–]rhygaar 8 points9 points ago*

Do you mean the Game Design courses taught at the undergraduate level?

*There are classes you can take as a non-EAE student.

*There is an EAE program for undergraduate students (one is a film degree, one is a computer science degree). It's an emphasis within your program of study, which is mostly about your electives.

*There is also an EAE program for graduate students, called the Master Games Studio, which currently offers an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in Film & Media Study, which has two tracks; one for 3d artists, one for producers.

*There is also an MS (Masters of Science) in Computer Science, which is for developers.

All students in both the undergraduate and graduate programs take classes in game design as part of their studies, so everyone gets a core foundation in game theory and design. As a film student you will be taking animation courses, some computer science courses, as well as traditional film courses. As a computer science student, you will be taking game design courses, some film courses, as well as all your regular computer science coursework.

Depending on which direction you want to go (artist, programmer, or producer) you'll need to prepare accordingly @ SLCC. If you're a programmer, your best bet (in all honesty) is to get to the U as soon as possible and start working on attaining major status in the Computer Science program.

If you're looking at artist you'll want to start beefing up your portfolio (via coursework) with traditional art classes, in addition to any 3d modeling or animation courses. If you want to be a producer, make sure to take some business / management courses as part of your general studies plan.

Here is a link to the EAE Program at the U of U: www.eae.utah.edu

The undergraduate program was ranked #2 in the nation for game design by the Princeton Review and GamePro last year. The graduate program was ranked #6 in the nation by Princeton Review and GamePro, during it's first year of existence.

We work with industry pros from Disney, EA Salt Lake, Epic Games, Siena Games, and the list is growing every month. The program works very hard to place you in paid internship positions with game companies or working on game projects for real clients (also paid)

Students have been hired by a variety of game companies including EA, Disney, Turbine Entertainment and a few have started their own studios.

If you want more information, talk to Corrinne, the Program Manager for EAE. She also teaches the undergraduate level game design course this semester. If you're a few years out, ask her about the program's plans to add additional degree options at both the undergrad and grad program. She can be reached at (801) 585-6491.

** EAE = Entertainment Arts & Engineering *** - I am a graduate of the undergrad EAE program (film), and I am one of the graduating members of the first cohort of the MGS program (producer).
