The ROM they link to there may be a problematic one too, in which case immediate removal/ replacement is recommended. Check this thread for more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633943 .

Free of the kernel bug that potentially causes hardbricking which have plagued the ICS leaks for the Note?

TIL: You can use your Android tablet (or phone) as a secondary monitor for your PC by trezor2in Android

I haven't used PocketCloud. When connected locally, I use SplashTop which gives the best, smoothest and most intuitive desktop experience eg, mouse follows your touch locations on screen, there is a scroll wheel button, the desktop resizes perfectly for the tablets screen etc.

When connecting across the internet I use Teamviewer, which allows unattended logins, quick and reliable connections, but the remote mouse does not follow your touch inputs directly, rather, you need to 'slide' the mousev around. Multiple screens are supported by teamviewer but not by splashtop. The colour depth reduces automatically to increase speed etc.

Not really. I feel like the lag might be a software related thing - optimisation on the Airdisplay host software on the PC might help. This is on my TF101. The network should not be an issue, as I have no problem using Splashtop to access my computer from the tablet (movies, all programs etc run nicely). Disabling Aero seems to help Airdisplay somewhat though.

Get Microsoft Office running on your Android device, with full Dropbox/Box.com/GDrive support. by rarebit13in Android

It's free? Thats cool, I figured it was a free app with restrictions requiring in-app purchasing to use effectively. I have a Transformer with the keyboard dock, so I imagine the typing would work quite well. However, the delays in displaying the doc might become inconvenient.

It almost sounds like some sort of terminal services setup, which I guess means no offline capabilities?

cases for galaxy note by cpgeekin Android

Does the case you bought have 1 or 2 cash pockets? I can't quite tell from the photos.

Does there seem to be risk of the credit cards rubbing on the Note screen?

I like these cases but I'm worried a little about showing everyone my cards and possible cash everytime I open the case to use the phone.

I've been using AirDisplay for this for a while now, and while a little laggy when moving things around screen quickly, it does work nicely to provide me with a second 10" screen on my laptop when working away from the office.

It also seems like the reviews for AirDisplay are more favourable, though I have never tried the iDisplay app OP linked to.

This app is not available in Australia yet, but I would love to know how well it works if anyone has tried it? If this works as promised, this will almost be the final app I need to be able to ditch the laptop as a work computer, and work exclusively on my tablet.

Have you tried Keypurr? This keyboard uses the same sort of slide gestures to type various letters and numbers, effectively reducing the number of keys on the keyboard. It also predicts words. This is my keyboard of choice, especially as I am commonly typing a combination of numbers and letters - no more switching between the alpha and numeric keyboard. I highly recommend trying it out.

ICS rolling out to Note right now by scrieeein Android

[–]rarebit13 0 points1 point ago

Have you got an estimate of how many people reporting data are required before you could start making predictions?

What sort of benefits do you see in PressureNet over regular weather services?

Would you be able to increase. The accuracy of long range forecasting, or would it be primarily used as confirmation of what a user could observe themselves (eg, rain on the horizon sort of thing)?

Cool, thanks for the info. I always thought that there would be a greater difference which the sensors would incorrectly report as changes in the atmospheric pressure. Can't wait till this sort of sensor use and reporting is wide spread.

So how accurate are your weather calculations going to be considering that most barometer readings will be from inside climate controlled rooms?

That's what I initially thought too. I don't know if it's just him, but there seems to be a whole culture around the kitchen for him. Chefing is his life, his passion. When he's not in the kitchen at work, he's doing other food related things (trying new dishes, visiting other chefs etc. ) I figure that a chefs life must be more a passion than a job.

I work in tech, and when I get home I hop straight onto the computer. If someone bought be some tech gadgets or tools, I'd be pretty stoked.

I don't know if this applies to all professions, but there are clearly some jobs that become more than just work.
