working with tumblr api... trying to understand how to handle this ajax request by phaggocytosisin jquery

fu3go is right but for future reference a callback is a fancy term for the function that is called after the request is finished. so for you it would be the function that parses the json.

Did you know Firefox's web inspector has a 3D View? Fancy. by degulassein web_design

[–]ragingRobot 0 points1 point ago

one of the biggest problems for me is that you can't copy css selectors from the css panel. If I make changes in the inspector and I want to copy them to my css file I have to type out the selector. It just slows me down.

I also dont like that when you update values in the css panel they dont show in real time like in chrome. Instead you have to press enter to see the change.

These are just a few little things that bug me about it. I'm sure if I used it more I would get used to it but its easier to just use chrome. Chrome is also a lot faster on my mac than firefox for some reason. I do have firebug installed but I still prefer chrome.

yeah I saw that. it's pretty cool. I don't like that version of the inspector though. it's hard to use. I usually use chrome instead.

I'm Making the switch from Dreamweaver to sublime 2. What all do i need to know? by ImLopshirein web_design

[–]ragingRobot 1 point2 points ago

i dont think anyone would recomend wordpress for a site like that. i work for a shool too and we have a super shitty enterprise cms right now. it sucks because the company who built it has horrible support and no useable documentation for any of their apis. luckily we are switching to something open source soon.

we do use wordpress ocassionally for smaller sites though. like event sites. its nice because its easy for the people in other departments to navigate the backend. some times we use drupal too but the interface isnt as easy for them to use without that much training.

did you set allowScriptAccess to "always" in your embed code? I know that if it's set to something else it sometimes causes things not to work in some browses.

I worked at chic-fil-a in highschool. I hated that so much! Who says "my pleasure?" I always felt so fake saying that because I never got "pleasure" from helping the customers. I think it would be really creepy if I did get pleasure from it lol.

Dear Android: a 9:1 piracy rate for games is not good enough by oughin Android

[–]ragingRobot 0 points1 point ago

this game looks like crap to me.... But then again I dont really care for sports games. Event if I did though, $10 is more than I would pay for most apps. I think the most expensive app I ever bought was the photoshop app from adobe. it was around $10 as well and looks way more polished(from a design and usability stand point) then this.

also, I don't care if a company has to pay licensing fees. why would I care about that? just because they made horrible deals with other companies doesn't mean people will pay more for their app. They have no reason to complain about that because its their own fault for signing those contracts.

Don't get me wrong. As an app developer I agree that people shouldn't pirate apps but I feel like they dont have much room to complain because their game isn't fairly priced to begin with.
