Oklahoma City (insert team name)... by ksmanasrain nfl

I think it'd be cool to have a new team in a "smaller" market but with rabid football fans. Maybe a Nebraska team or something?

Oh man, my first year as the Browns in Madden 10 it really saved my ass when I took Peyton Manning out on the third play of the AFC Championship Game. I was fist pumping.

Madden 07 here. On my 2nd year as the Falcons. Fuck Mike Vick, you can train up Matt Shaub and get mad draft picks for Vick.

You're totally wrong here. If I were to pinpoint a single defensive player you can put blame on for that play, it's Jarvis Green, who had Eli in his hands and then let him slip away.

edit: although, I painfully looked at the play again, and Jarvis Green had an OLineman all over him. But still.

Oh definitely. I can understand the anger. See, I have to get a bit philosophical about things and let go of annoyances because if I don't and I fixate on things I will become a ball of rage.

Defensive lineman must LOVE interceptions. They get to truck an OL who might've been pissing them off all day.

What was great too was the Sound FX of that game, Suggs was wired up and he gets up and he's like "Who did that? Who did that?" flabbergasted.

True. But I sort of see it this way, in terms of actual effect on the average fan's life, the NFL might as well be American Idol. So, if gossipy tabloid celebrity journalism shit leaks into gossipy tabloid sports journalism, I can't really see a difference. It's all the same entertainment beast, just a slightly different colored mask.

A Tebow-led Jets in the Superbowl, and then winning it with a last second run by Tebow.

I would have to go to ESPN and burn it down very quickly. For the good of mankind.

DAE miss Betty playing a more prominent role? by DhA90in madmen

[–]radiochanges 0 points1 point ago

Here's the thing, I'd want see characters who are played by good actors deal with the times, rather than January Jones dealing with something by staring blankly or perhaps looking slightly sad or flustered, and then saying something snarky in a monotone fashion.

Obviously the show won't go the cliche route though, and I wouldn't want it to do that either. I just wish they cast a more able actress than January Jones. Then I would have no issue with Betty.

DAE miss Betty playing a more prominent role? by DhA90in madmen

[–]radiochanges -1 points0 points ago

Betty is written really well and acted adequately at the best of times and terribly multiple times. The show shoving Betty to the peripherals can only be a strength in my opinion, since this show is more and more about times changing, it's natural that Betty gets phased out, she's a dinosaur culturally, and she's one of those characters who is a comment about how people get left behind and forgotten by a culture rapidly moving forward. Her true value in these latter season(this season and onwards) should come from being Sally's mother, actually, since the show is more and more about the young people. Like many people in that era, Betty has been made almost irrelevant. It's a good thing.

However, she might be more prominent next season because her absence might have more to do with January Jones than the writers wanting to do less of her.

I didn't know McNabb was a serial puker.

Yup. I heard audio on a radio program where they had gotten some radio broadcast from like a tightly contested Syracuse game and were commenting on how McNabb was puking.

McNabb is a guy who pukes when things get too pressure filled, I guess. Sort of sums up his career.
