Since I live 3 states away from their brewery, that's exactly right. But my state has plenty of craft brewers that are much better than Alpine, so if they want to limit their market to local buyers and refuse to sell a brew that is considered popular by their customer base (while using an extremely popular form of distribution), then best of luck to them.

If Alpine goes under because they constantly complained about their customer base, you'll get more than just a small chuckle out of me. Probably while I'm sipping beer out of a growler that I purchased from the tiny brewery up in Glenwood Springs.

I'm sure they'll be just fine, and enough Californians enjoy Alpine to keep them in business, but I'm going to avoid any trips to their brewery or evenings spent drinking at their brewpub when I make a trip out there later this summer.
