Perhaps one day you will meet someone who has that subtle something that makes you slip up and tell the truth. Maybe he or she has a calm, knowing smile or a reassuring demeanor that makes you feel accepted, and suddenly, it will feel good to be truthful. You will want to bare your life story honestly, because their trust is valuable to you.

Think of how wonderful it will be when you've matured enough to build honest friendships... imagine the freedom in knowing your friends love you for who you are as opposed to a fabrication.

Infinitely agree - I remember reading about this somewhere (or maybe saw it in a Ted Talk) and it's stuck with me. Saying "Wow, you must have worked really hard on that!" encourages children in the direction of achievement as opposed to reliance on inherent skills of which they may not be capable.
