Checked out the Gondola rides tonight for the Mrs. and myself. It's $64.00 for a private 2 person ride. It's $16 per person, otherwise.

Additionally, if you can find a bar in a casino that has the video poker machines built-in, you can get your drinks much faster. I like the one in Palazzo, I believe it's called "Fusion." There's usually a minimum of $20 in the machine. Just play the 1-cent bets and take the free drinks. If you lose a buck or two, the drinks will have covered it.

Can we share class schedules? Are there any fellow redditors in my class? Am I lame? by justme247in SDSU

Hope you're taking 403 with Semm, he's awesome. If you're taking 410 with Johnston, I have some study guides that may help you. As for schedule, I'm all done as of December :)

I always see people flashing their headlights at red signals thinking they will trigger the pre-emptor system for emergency and sometimes transit vehicles. The light eventually changes as lights do and they feel like they influenced the light to change sooner. Is there any truth to this whatsoever?

My understanding is that there is a specific frequency at which the light has to flash to trigger the system. Additionally, my understanding it that there are different frequency flashes for different levels of priority. It makes sense that a pre-emptor system could use infrared.

Additionally, it's called pre-emptor, right?

What classes or professors have you taken at SDSU that you would without a doubt recommend everyone take? by errsoolahin SDSU

If you get a chance, take Semm for SOC401. I think he also teaches another soc class, but 401 changed my life.

I'm a little late here, but two classes that changed my life are RTM404 with Professor Beck and SOC401 with Professor Semm.

RTM404 was simple, no long papers. The reading material is what got me. The class was focused on two books that changed my perspective on the world.

SOC401 changed the way I think about work, jobs, and especially American Politics. Semm was an awesome professor, the class had two short papers that were graded very easily. There was also 3 exams on the material, which aren't hard because you want to know what he teaches.

What is the craziest thing you've seen somebody do at the workplace? by Murkantilismin AskReddit

[–]pstu 1 point2 points ago

I used to have a co-worker who was very racist, homophobic, republican, and christian. I came across a site where you could send yourself a free Qur'an. Who better to send it to than this fellow. I fill in his name and our work address and forget about it. Several weeks later a heavy package arrives with nothing other than his new copy of the Qur'an. I must mention that this guy also carried a gun at work. Mind you, we are in California, aren't cops or anything, so this is very illegal. We work in a well populated metropolitan area. Behind our work is a small river (creek) that runs through the property separating the property from one of our city's largest shopping malls. There is a very small open piece of land with just trees and shrub attached to it. He takes his new Qur'an, props it against a tree and shoots a hole in it.

What's a fact you KNOW that almost everyone is wrong about? by Chairboyin AskReddit

[–]pstu 1 point2 points ago

Just because you got arrested, does not mean the police have to read your rights. They are required to read you your rights if you are in custody AND being interrogated (i.e. they are asking you questions related to the alleged crime). If you get arrested and they do not read you your rights, it is NOT a false arrest based solely on that alone.

San Diego Parking Enforcement Caught Falsifying Ticket. Video Evidence NOT Accepted as Proof. by badandy80in sandiego

[–]pstu 1 point2 points ago

In Chula Vista, the police department told me that you can be cited for parking in a spot with a broken meter. I came here to make that comment, but did a quick google first which came up with this relevant article. Not that it's from 2008 but I can't imagine laws have changed. If you ctrl+f "broken" you'll see the listing in the grey box about broken parking meters. Not sure where it is listed in the municipal code though.
