To adjust your figures a bit:

The population of the City of Chicago is 2,695,598. Metro Chicago is 9,461,105.

The population of Seoul Special City is 9,794,304. Metro Seoul is 23,616,000.

Wikipedia will only give me a quote on the area of Seoul Special City, which is 605.28 km2 with a population of 9,794,304.

The City of Chicago is almost the same size, at 606.1 km2, with a population of only 2,695,598.

That I can't say. Also being Canadian, beaurocracy seems to me the default setting for federal government.

It is my understanding, however, that a considerable amount still goes on in government in Korea to, *ahem*, "grease the wheels".

Who the fuck downvoted my comment? This is a well-known fact. Koreans feel obliged to stay at their office until their boss leaves. It doesn't matter how late that is: the boss measures the loyalty of his employees based on how late they stay more than on any other measure.

Gaunt and emaciated, but happy at their release from Japanese captivity, two Allied prisoners pack their meager belongings, after being freed near Yokohama, Japan, on September 11, 1945, by men of an American mercy squadron of the U.S. Navy [500x378]. by crashinin HistoryPorn

The fucking title says "at their release from Japanese captivity, two Allied prisoners". It actually DOESN'T say who they were freed by. Also, the Soviets were Allies at that point, too.

Operation Paperclip was an American initiative to recruit Nazi scientists. How would that have any effect on Japanese POWs? It wouldn't. Christ. What the fuck is wrong with you?

It's because of gross inefficiency. Korean office workers accomplish, in a 60-hour week, what a North American can do in 40.

What an ugly sprawling mess. High population density is a real bitch.

Those Americans, who were clearly in their 20s or 30s when that picture was taken, grew up in East Asia during the 1930s and 1940s? What in the name of Christ...??

Also, this is the first time you mentioned Shiro.

Also, from the wikipedia article: "More than 95% of the victims who died in the camp based in Pingfang were Chinese and Korean, including both civilian and military."

So shut the fuck up already, you fucking nut.

Again, making assumptions about my real-life persona. If you act like this in real life (i.e. wishing dread diseases upon people who do the least acts to irk you) then you are probably much less fun to be around than a person who nitpicks semantic misuses. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you?

Parenting & Religion done right... by pog_mo_hon_redditin atheism

[–]pretzelzetzel 1 point2 points ago

Nope! Parenting done right, according to OP, is telling a child that an oath is bullshit and then making them say it anyway. This teaches the child that it is right and proper to say things you don't believe, and that are confirmed to be untrue, in order to please the tribe's elders.

  1. You used 'dogma' incorrectly; it's a countable noun representing a discrete article, so "Catholic dogmas" would have been correct where you used it. Furthermore, in the context of Catholicism, 'dogma' has a specific meaning far richer than simply being a synonym for 'doctrine', which was the usage definition you gave. 'Doctrine' was the word you meant to use the first time, not 'dogma'.

  2. You derived an awful lot about my personality from a simple sentence on the internet. ARE U A WIZARD LOLOL?

  3. Fuck you.

That's because you're already not part of the Church. (I'm assuming). I take it excommunication can be quite a big deal. That whole "fear of hell" thing.

That was my first thought. Luckily I still had my tiptoes on the chair when I saw it was a Marvel Avengers movie, and had enough wiggle room to get my head out of the noose.
