Think about recent legislation and their pronunciations:

SOPA
PIPA
CISPA

I think most Americans pronounce those "Soapa", "Pippa", and "Sispa" respectively. Acronym pronunciation helps when discussing, in my opinion.

That said, how about Free Internet Protection Act: FIPA (pronounced "Fippa")?

Yes, you're not crazy; I've heard it on 3 iPhones (mine included), as have 50+ pages of users on the Apple forums:

It's one of the radios interfering with the earpiece speaker. The best test is to put it on 3G (turn off Wifi), and load up a reasonably long YouTube video. Turn down the sound all the way, and put the phone to your ear (be careful not to press "Done" with your ear on the screen). You should hear the noise pretty clearly.

It might be something we just have to live with.

At work I hear a lot of "the global climate is too big for humans to effect -- volcanoes, surface reflection, and the oceans (as a heat sink) affect the temperatures more" and "there isn't enough historical evidence (temperature history) to prove ACC vs. a natural CC outside of human influence".

I also hear a lot of "CO2 is too little a component in the Earth's atmosphere to have any impact on the greenhouse effect, and of that small component, humans don't account for much".

I don't read the science for ACC myself, so it's tough for me to come up with counter arguments.

Yeah I'm having a hard time getting over the lack of "character builds" myself. After playing a few builds, and making some really wacky builds (war cry barb, throwing axe barb, etc) in D2, it just seems weird to think that I'll have one of each character class in Diablo III... I can't see a reason to have more than one.

That said, I think we need to get over that this isn't Diablo 2.5, and treat it like a new game. I'm definitely excited, and I like what I see in the beta so far. I'm interested to see how the resource management evolves throughout the game, as early on there doesn't seem to be much management -- it's just cast spenders until you need to cast generators.

Eh, it seems like 95% of the time you would use the analog stick on the middle prong, making for a weird (albeit still comfortable) holding style.

I think he was just making an analogy. I've been running the iOS 5 GM on my 3GS since it came out. Some things are a little slower, maybe there's a JavaScript performance boost, but it's not even close to being as bad as the impact iOS 4 had on the 3G. I downgraded my wife's 3G to iOS 3.1.3 because it was so unusable.

Overall I'd say the experience in using the phone is about the same, or maybe feels slightly slower.
