Tripl- social travel

No idea how we missed but following your tweets it seems like we'd hit off (no homo)

HPVP and Quotidian did a convertible round with us. Now relaunching at TNW alongside Shelby.tv and doing Dreamit this summer. I'm a NYer who built the business overseas but finally brining it back to the best city in the world.

I've had the awesome opportunity to meet with basically the entire Lerer Team including your dad. You guys took a pass at us, but lead us to another VC who solidified the round.

How the hell do I get the chance to grab a beer with you?

First of all if you decide to take them on with you set up a vesting agreement right away. One with a 4 year period, 1 year cliff, monthly vesting after that. The buyback should be based on historical price and not current market value.

To be honest with you try to get rid of them now before you move forward and get it in writing.

No its couchsurfing without the weirdness of having to stay at peoples places. And it finds people that are connected to you, like friends of friends.

1) The purpose wasn't just to drive traffic to our site. I wanted to explain to other startups that there is another way to drive traffic to your site during your early stages of development.

2) We didn't insult them. We just showed the facts. We did however say we were upset with the way the article was written but I specifically wrote "Although we were grateful to be published" which we were and still are. We just wish they would have focused more on the technology we had built, which on an engineering stand point is hard.

3) I know very well traffic isn't a goal. If you read the post you should see that traffic leads you to the ability to test different theories about your product and find out what works.

4) I also just wrote in a comment above about the credibility its gives you

Secondly,

100% you are right with the credibility.... what do you mean by "spending a few hours pumping stuff through my social media accounts" - any tips?

TheNextWeb is a great European tech based publication. Does anyone know another good one for the EU?

You incorrect. We can use all your friends current locations and checkins to make those connections. Please provide some examples of failures so we can try to learn from their mistakes. We have been working in the social travel space since 2009. We have failed at products, but there is no company who has been able to do this from an engineering point yet.

We are trying to utilize all the connections your friends have around the world, thereby limiting your need for your friends to actually be there. If you were going to Chicago, we can show you all of your friends who know someone there. We also utilize your check in data to find out where your friends are traveling and how you can connect them.
