Why I idolise Ricky Gervais and learn from him, but don't copy or mimic him. by paulrstaffordin StandUpComedy

Thanks mate, Yea I think Ghost Town and The Invention of Lying were diluted by Hollywood a little. Cemetery Junction deserves to be seen by more people.

Life in Korea is great, very little to complain about over the last 2 years. I do chat with everyone, it's pretty similar to anywhere in the world. People are people. I recommend learning a bit of the language. Can't help your chances ;-)

Furthermore, I totally understand Han Ye Seul's position. How she handled the situation in August was not right, but she was probably not overstating the reality of the situation when she said she was working about 20 hours a day for weeks on end.

Sadly it's not my place to really comment on the state of worker's rights here as I'm just a guest. I will say this though: the actors and actresses should stop whining and unite to form a union. So long as there are no unions, people are always going to be over-worked and under-paid.

Well, pay varies greatly. I don't model, so I'm the only foreign actor who makes a living solely from my craft, unlike most other foreigners here who teach English or study primarily. Therefore I'm doing ok. I made more than $20,000 this year, but I don't want to be specific on how much. This year was a good year. I have done 4 feature films, 4 dramas, 1 musical theatre play, 1 kid's show, countless smaller projects and cameos, and then about 10 short films (which were all unpaid jobs). I want to try everything here. I also do voice acting and the occasional radio show. I like to balance paid and non-paid work, plus a load of my own projects from writing to directing short films. Money is not the key focus for me at my age. Experience is.

18 Things in Every Korean Drama by thisbagin asiandrama

Great list. However the main thing that makes its way into every drama at least twice (per episode), is of course: CRYING!

Never a problem. I guess personality is personality wherever one is in the world. I never have any problems. Even with a lack of cogent communication, I always look for ways to joke about on set when not filming. Some of the more famous people tend to be more aloof and holier than thou, then again I am proud to call some famous Korean actors my friends also. In the world of film&t.v. whether I'm talked to or not sadly depends more upon the magnitude of my role

Good question. At first, yes, but these days I am getting meatier roles. I was a world champion marathoner in the upcoming movie 'Pacemaker', in this drama I play a father who works hard to provide a living for his kid in adverse conditions, which of course is not so belittling. My co-actress is called Hwang In-Young

Well to be honest, it is really easy to get involved. Due to Korea's growth globally in the drama making game, as well as the global growth of their electronics and car companies like Samsung & Kia they are becoming rapidly global-minded. Therefore: more foreign faces on the t.v. I am getting better at Korean, hence this drama role, but when I started I could just say hello. I would say about 90% of my roles are in English still.

I had sex with my new girlfriend's wife before we met and she wants us to all have dinner! What do I do!? by ADHthaGreatin AskReddit

I only clicked on this because it said girlfriend's wife. Disappointed. Now that would have been a problem!

Hey thanks ^ I actually came out to Korea to act. I had read that there was a lot of acting work for foreigners here and things were slow in London (the no experience = no work situation). So I came here for experience. Been here 2 years so far and guess I will leave once I feel like I've done all I can here. Thanks for your comment

Hi Elliott, I'm a professional actor. I write a blog with advice and you can also see what I'm doing on a day to day basis to further my career. Looks matter not. Hard work and dedication matter. I write an acting blog with advice for actors here: http://paulstafford.wordpress.com/paulsblog/

I am also British and felt exactly the same as you mate at 16. Don't rush though, 85% of actors make less than $5000 a year. I am luckily one of the 15% who make more but I went through university first (that was where I got plenty of opportunity to practice and learn acting for free). Or finish 6th form then hit acting school. Get your A-Levels first though. I write an acting blog with advice for actors here: http://paulstafford.wordpress.com/paulsblog/

Short film shot in an abandoned theme park in South Korea. Naturally it had to be post-apocalyptic. by paulrstaffordin movies

We also found an abandoned motel at the location, which also helped with the shoot
