First time trying Blue (could use some help)

I'm no standard player (and it appears you wanna be standard), but I am a blue player.

Blue is the control color. It's main appeal is dominating the game via Card Advantage, Tempo, etc. Blue decks usually shine more in their late game rather than early. It may take a few turns to get everything up and running, but once you have stabilized the board, you win.

With your particular list, I would drop Stolen Goods. You could flip into crap and there is no stopping that.Also, drop the enchantments. Most or all of those aren't that great. Drop butcher's cleaver, it's high equip cost will do more harm than help.

AEther adept is a good tempo card to get to your late game. Phantasmal Image is the go-to copycat these days.

Other than this I don't know what to say. I play blue, but not standard blue.

kinda hard to break a 6 drop aura. You will most likely get 2 for 1'd before you manage to start any combo.

Dude this is overpowered as hell.

10000x better than the shock lands. Unless you know your opponent is playing infect, you can play up to 9 of these untapped worry free. Maybe sac creatures or lands or something, but not poison counters.

Sure they aren't power 9, but you got some really cool stuff.

Undead Gladiator is a personal favorite of mine. And Graveborn Muse is always a great form of black card draw.

My best friend mains Black/Red and assuming you just want a specialized deck to beat him down, I think I can work something out.

You can play with the numbers however you like, but this is a good way to counter a B/R deck. Especially a B/R vampire deck. And I put some random other good cards against B/R vamps in the side. Snow lands + Scrying Sheets are optional, but it's always a quirky card draw engine to throw into mono-colored decks.

There's a whole plethorea of really random red cards. Cards that really confuse up a game, just look for em.

Ok so I used to work at a game store and I know exactly what they are. They are indeed beginner decks, and by beginner I mean WAY beginner. No rares, nothing of value or interest.
