The only thing that has made me gag was an old dude with cdiff (Clostridium difficile). An enteric bacteria that causes diarrhea. I have seen lots of cdiff but this shit is the worst i ever saw. It looked like green jello with bits of cooked spinach in it, with streaks of blood.

Worst wound, lady had a bed sore (not my patient) on her sacrum. in the course of about 2 weeks it tunneled from her back to exit from underneath her breasts. spine was exposed, organs exposed ect. and the smell would have made anyone nauseated.

Most fucked up situation, pt is confused, had a brain injury, pulls his foley catheter most of the way out (still inflated, 30ml balloon) screaming in pain. his penis has this huge bulge just below the glans. Balloon won't deflate. surgeon comes up about 30 min later and pierces his urethra with a 14 ga, needle to deflate the balloon.

my wife is also a nurse, her most traumatic story occurred right after graduating nursing school. she was still on orientation. lady comes in with stage 4 breast cancer. she is in denial about even having breast cancer because she didn't want to trouble her family. anyway, wife has to give her a bed bath. she is washing the cancerous breast and the lady's nipple just falls off.

It has to do with vagus nerve stimulation. Since the vagus and phrenic nerve are involved with the hiccup arc, it makes sense that stimulating another area of that nerve could interrupt the positive feedback loop of hiccups. I'll just hold my breath.

corporations are not people, no matter how hard they want to be. The argument from the "99%" is that we should tax the rich (not corporations) more. If you want to raise the capital gains tax, just realize their will WAY fewer jobs than there are today because corporations would all leave for better prospects.

How does this rant have anything to do with the fact that congress is bought and paid for by the rich? It doesn't.

I am responding to all the people who seem to think their poor choices are the responsibility of society (and by society, I mean anyone who makes more money than they do).

If they are all so concerned about a bought and paid for congress, it is possible to change that. Start at the state level and begin initiatives to ban corporate involvement in politics, start a petition for a constitutional amendment. Telling sob stories on reddit does nothing but waste bandwidth and take away from REAL original content.

Here is the problem I have with the "99%"ers. You complain that the rich don't pay their share of taxes, yet they ALREADY pay the lions share of taxes, so YOU don't have to. If you have kids, you most likely don't pay taxes at all. People such as myself and and other middle class couples without children subsidize you and your kids. If you use pell grants to pay for school, congratulations, you just got more of my tax money. I went to school and paid cash because I "made too much money" (i.e. I chose to work AND go to school rather than live off the government and loans). How much was "too much"? 15k a year. But I got my degree in something that was in demand. Is it my dream job? Hell no. It is a shitty job, but it provides for my family. This whole thing is about decisions, and the people bitching are primarily those who made poor ones. Why aren't you fuckers out protesting "The war on terror" or "The war on drugs" both of which could provide you with far more profit than trying to eat the rich. Are there rich people who got that way on the backs of the poor? Undoubtedly. By the same token, there are those people who gained their fortune by skill, hard work, genius, and foresight. How do we punish only the "bad" rich? Most nauseating of all is that you all seem to think the world (or at least the people of our country) owe you something.

I am sure this comment will get me downvoted to oblivion, but I don't give a shit. Quit whining, man the fuck up and do what you have to to support your family.

I have been hit with CS and OC at the same time and never had a reaction like that. During one of the riot team training sessions at my unit 9 triple charge CS rounds were set off at the same time and the wind carried the cloud over the unit gassing the whole prison. Sure, I felt blinded and was coughing, blowing snot but I (nor anyone else) was wailing like their limbs had been sawed off and the jagged bone end shoved in their ass. probably the worst I ever got gassed is when we were training with blast dispersion rounds on the 37mm gas gun. Dude in front of me finishes firing his round, takes off the gas mask and drops it on the ground in front of him, cracks the barrel open to remove the spent round and a torrent of CS powder dumps into the gas mask. We could not fire the gun without the mask on, but had to fire it to qualify. I manned up, strapped that fucker on, gassed the shit out of myself and fired it. When I pulled it off it took about an hour for my eyes to quit watering and stop coughing. So I go to drive home, turn on the AC in my car and goddamn it all the powder on my clothes starts blowing around in my car. gassed again. Took me 2 hours to drive 15 miles home because I kept having to stop and try to air out my car and self. It sucks but the women were drama queens.

This reminds me of when I went to Amsterdam and was walking through the redlight district. There is this guy in a motorized wheel chair who is zooming around the district going from whorehouse to whorehouse. He would stop at one and knock. the girl would come out and they would talk briefly, then he move on to the next one. This goes on for quite a while until he come to this one house. he knocks, she answers, and he is visibly excited. She is a rather well built woman. She picks him up and carries him inside, leaving the wheelchair at the door. Keen shopper with his priorities straight.
