Create an NBA team using $100 by Erickjin nba

[–]pacdent -7 points-6 points ago

PG- Irving - $12

SG- Jordan - $25

SF- Iguodala - $13

PF- Hakeem - $25

C- Shaq - $25

Ok so I cheated and put Hakeem at PF. But let's be honest, there is no way anyone could beat a team with Hakeem and Shaq in the post. They would be way too dominant. And then add on Jordan, only the greatest player of all time. Done deal.

All the circle jerkiness aside, can we talk about LeBron in the 4th quarter? by zlavanin nba

I'm sorry but this just sounds like an excuse. Game 7, Lakers vs Nuggets. Kobe played 45 minutes that game, didn't rest in the 4th. And yet, this happened.

It's common sportsmanship to wish well to the team(or player) that eliminates you from a tournament. You see it all the time from players in tennis, the NFL, MLB, and NBA. But I guess that's a foreign concept to fans of the game.

Honestly, even with the young players on your team, I don't see this current roster ever making it big. However, I do think that if you guys add a star player to this current roster, either via draft or free agency, you guys could be competing for the top spot in the West. George Karl is a great coach .

Except in 2009 when Carmelo led them to the Western Conference Finals and lost in 6. Denver never should've traded him. How's that whole "team" concept working out for you guys?

Good game Nuggets. You guys outworked us all night especially on the glass. It'll be an exciting game 4!

He would fit well in the Bull's scheme but I feel like he is essentially just another Luol Deng.

My least favorite lighting fixture. by we_say_fuckthatin pics

[–]pacdent 0 points1 point ago

It has nothing to do with the light. Most likely, it's probably just the taste of the material the dentist is using. A lot of dental materials, as AskAbi pointed out, require a curing light to harden so you might just be tasting the material.

[–]pacdent 13 points14 points ago

It actually isn't a UV light. It just produces blue light at a peak wavelength of 460 nm. There is a photoinitiator in the composite filling material that forms free radicals and begins to harden the "cement" once it is exposed to light at that wavelength.

Andrew Bynum now has a triple-double vs. the Nuggets as he tied the NBA playoffs record with 10 blocks to go along with 10 points and 13 rebounds and counting. by wafrhestin nba

[–]pacdent 5 points6 points ago

Not sure why you are getting downvoted. Even as a Laker fan, I think that Robinson and Duncan were a far more superior duo than Bynum and Gasol.

Mike brown needs a good firing by Retawtramsin lakers

[–]pacdent 11 points12 points ago

People are too harsh on Mike Brown. You guys act as if we've never been blown out under Phil Jackson. I thought the players came out flat tonight and lacked energy. They were slow rotating, and were caught watching the ball several times defensively. Regardless, Mike Brown has done a pretty good job with this team given that he is trying to instill a completely new system without a training camp and with a shortened season where would-be practice days are replaced by rest days. Oh, and losing Lamar Odom hasn't helped at all. Playing Lamar over Murphy off the bench could have made a huge difference for our team this season. Sorry for the rant but I think Mike Brown has put this team in a decent position for a championship this year, and maybe with a few offseason tweeks and a full training camp under their belt, the Lakers could be legit contenders next year.

I know we're all Sessions crazy but McRoberts has played an excellent game so far. It's good to see him back in the rotation.

He's not actually old(37), he's just old for the NBA. Here's Herschel Walker at age 50. Much more impressive.

Let's talk Ramon Sessions by grungustin nba

[–]pacdent 2 points3 points ago

I see your point but I disagree that this won't happen. There are a lot of top level teams that use one of their star players off the bench (Jason Terry, Ginobili, James Harden, Odom when he was a Laker, etc). As long as our starting unit shows no signs of struggle offensively during the limited minutes that Blake gets, I can see Mike Brown playing Sessions off the bench for the remainder of the season.

Let's talk Ramon Sessions by grungustin nba

[–]pacdent 2 points3 points ago

Agreed. But I don't think he will be starting soon nor should he. If you think about it, our lineup with Blake, Bryant, MWP, Pau, and Bynum is pretty good offensively to begin with. Sessions definitely improves the play of that lineup but here's the thing. Starting Sessions means having Blake come off the bench. That means we would have to watch a Blake/Goudelock/Barnes/Murphy/Bynum lineup for the bench again and us Laker fans have been complaining about our bench all year long. I say we let Sessions come off the bench but have him play ~33 minutes/game. That way, our bench is much improved and Sessions also gets time with the starters.

-8 with Blake, +21 with Sessions. Is it REALLY that hard to decide who should start, Mike Brown? ಠ_ಠ

Again? ಠ_ಠ by Daetharalarin Chargers

[–]pacdent 2 points3 points ago

I completely understand the reasoning behind that decision and honestly, in a 3rd and 25 situation, I would do the same. But there are other times that are 3rd and 16 or 18, 19, in which it would be more beneficial to pass the ball. It has become a lot easier to successfully pass the ball in this league over the years and the "run the draw" logic is kind of old-fashioned. While it is still difficult, it is still entirely possible to get that kind of yardage in one play with the talented personnel that we have. I have seen top tier QBs(Brees, Rodgers, Brady) do it on numerous occasions and I don't see why Rivers doesn't get the chance. Finally, the defense playing deep and expecting a deep throw makes it a lot easier to hit a guy running a 10 yard route and getting some field position back. It is essentially the same as a draw at that point.

It causes the defenders to switch and puts their point guard guarding Kobe, a much more favorable matchup.

You're the GM on your favorite team. What do you do before tommorows 3PM EST Deadline? by Crunkethin nba

"Chad Ford reports that Crawford and Raymond Felton 'have quietly orchestrated a mutiny ever since Nate McMillan chewed them out in a video session a while back.' "

It's possible that the Blazers would also get a pick as well but Blake is definitely the main piece.

Trade Steve Blake to the Blazers in a 3 team trade in which Crawford goes to Minnesota and Beasley comes to the Lakers. Then, trade a 1st round draft pick to the Cavs for Ramon Sessions.
