Looks like someone just ran a few high-pass filters on these images in photoshop.. you could make anyone look that bad in seconds.

Create them in either Adobe Illustrator or InDesign at the exact size they will be printed. Then save them as print quality PDFs. There are lots of great tutorials online if you are having trouble.

I call this piece "Escher" … Maybe I should call it "Mondrian" instead? by poopstankpootyin photocritique

This is a beautiful photograph. I don't think you should name it Mondrian or Escher because those leave me thinking about how this is different from their work, rather than how inherently interesting this photograph it on its own.

Someone needs to make an alarm that has a speaker right next to your bed, but that doesn't turn off until you turn on the shower.

Totally understandable. If you're a student the education discounts are great, and there are always 30 day trial if you are just looking to play around. Also try GIMP.

The only shopping I did on this was to put it through Nik's SilverEfex Pro! It did take a long time to get a shot where the scene was actually properly in focus.

nice shots! It really depends what editing programs you have available. If you already have Adobe Photoshop then start off shooting in RAW, and play around in Camera Raw then you open the photos. Just starting off with basics like exposure, fill light, blacks, brightness, and contrast will give you great results.

In photoshop first create a black and white adjustment layer. Then choose a slightly brown tint in the black and white layer. Finally duplicate your base photo layer, and put it above the black and white adjustment layer and set it to "soft light"
