Surprisingly, no one asked me this question until just now. When I realized the attraction, I pursued her and she turned me down, saying that it would be weird. But I don't think it has been awkward for either of us. I don't think either of us are kids any more and had a good 10 years to grow into different people before meeting again.

Yes, I'm not sure what they did during the surgery but it feels like any other woman gripping me harder with each thrust. She doesn't "bottom out" either.

We've discussed this before and I always come back to the fact that he started to grow out his hair in high school. By the time we graduated it was fairly long and he had started to twirl it in his fingers. He got picked on by some kids for being a "fag" but I never really though anything about it other than some kids are just dicks to others. She doesn't remember any of this, however.

$600K is not typical. She wanted to ease into the feminine look so she had to continually go in for more surgery. If you are willing to do your cosmetic surgery in one fell swoop, it is a lot cheaper. But you have less control over your appearance after you heal and there is a bit of a shock factor for people when they see you for the first time after. If you do less therapy during the process you can save a lot of money as well.

Join your local support group, everything she is doing will make a lot more sense after a few meetings.

From what I've been told the healing process takes a few months. The body treats it like an open wound at first but eventually everything functions as advertised. For my wife, the vaginoplasty was more important because it got rid of the thing that she felt was most wrong with her. The facial feminization surgeries (FFS) were done gradually to allow her to stealth her way into her new face.

As for outing, we went the bandage way. Just told my parents, but it didn't go well. Susans.org has a lot of discussion over this, but I've found that talking to gay friends is the best way to get advice over it.

Not really, the amount of lubrication it produces varies by the woman and the skill of the surgeon. Some who have had colovaginoplasties claim that it is indistinguishable; while others who have had a typical vaginoplasty claim that they gain some function within a few years. In my experience, it does create some lubrication but not enough for real fun.

In short, you'll be hardpressed to distinguish if it is a recent surgery done by a skilled surgeon. They take it into consideration. There was some literature floating around about salivary glands being transplanted a few years ago, but I can't find it right now.

They can after changing their gender legally. However, some states have laws that won't allow that (Texas, for example).

For all legal purposes she is a woman. Went to court and got the paperwork to get it changed and then went to the DMV to get a new ID. So she would go to a woman's prison at this point. I'm pretty sure I would have entered into this regardless of her past, it just felt right.

Her Adam's apple was reduced through surgery, not that it was particularly prominent to begin with. Her hands are feminine. Even as kids, I used to tease him about his "lady hands".

Most reads happen because of the voice. Men have a specific style of talking, somewhat more rhythmic and monotone than women. Once people feel that style in conversation they immediately start searching for other things that don't fit. Even early/"manly" looking ts can go stealth by mastering their voice.

I would be ok with her choice because it is her decision ultimately, but it would definitely be disheartening. I've seen hundreds of marriages fall apart during transition.

But when you look at her what do you think about her? I assume you like the way she looks, but does she look different to you from what we would think of as the average woman?

She has a certain elegance you don't see in a lot of women out there. Everything from the way she puts on lipstick (still uses a compact) to the way she dresses has a slightly old-fashioned Hollywood feeling to it.

Has your taste shifted at all in ways you might think would be because of your marriage? In other words, did you shift away or toward looking at gay-porn?

I've become more understanding towards straight men who do things that the general public consider "not straight" (watching gay porn being a good example). My porn tastes haven't shifted much.
