i like the simplistic idea but not the execution. a silver tone would give it a more vintage, classic look. but the brass/gold color makes is look old as opposed to vintage/classic.

there is really only one rule for whether or not long hair will work for someone: how much care are you willing to put in it?

most guys have no idea how to care for long hair and just let it grow out, get frizzy (or in the opposite case greasy) and keep it unkempt. this might work for grunge superstars but for a normal person this looks horrible. long hair is rare and unique so if you have long hair, it becomes very noticeable which is both good and bad. if it's not healthy or well taken care off, it looks horrible.

women have long hair that is well taken care of and they know how to look after it since they have been growing it out since they were little. men, not so much. they have no idea how to take care of it and when it becomes long, it looks like a nasty mess.

if you take care of your hair and style it well, long hair can work for men. its just that men don't know how to care for it...not saying that that can't be learned.
