CoP music question inquiry... by Elijah_Downin stalker

[–]myhandleonreddit 0 points1 point ago

Can I ask where you found the files? I have Stalker Complete and would like to remove (or replace with a null file) the menu music and the pop music that plays on the radios.

‘The Exorcist’ Being Adapted for Television by ‘Martha Marcy May Marlene’ Director by Shadow_Jackin television

[–]myhandleonreddit 0 points1 point ago

"Let's remake The Exorcist!" sounds like such a bad idea, but a 10-episode miniseries from the director of one of the most haunting psychological movies I've seen in years sounds pretty great.

Full episode of IFC's Comedy Bang Bang, with Amy Poehler. by Steve_Kind_Ofin television

It was like Mr. Show Lite! I mean that in a good way. It ended up being a lot better than I thought it would when he first announced it. I preferred this to most of the podcast episodes once they hit the 15m mark (or whenever the impersonation character walks into the studio).

I also wonder how much was scripted, or how many takes they do of each part. Seemed like the whole Andy Daly part was ad lib.

If Breaking Bad has an amazing 5th season, could you see it being placed above The Wire in Best TV Show lists? by syktonin television

I'm glad Breaking Bad exists and has become so accessible. We have a lot less "I just watched one episode of The Wire and don't get the hype" posts thanks to it.

I'd make fun of that stupid question as well.

Do you sincerely need validation that your personal opinion is normal because you dislike a TV series?

Why is it that on a lot of record inserts that have the song lyrics written, the written lyrics often have obvious mistakes? by ahighleprechaunv2in vinyl

It's kind of entertaining that you thought liner notes lyrics were written by somebody listening to the song and transcribing what the vocalist is singing.

When, to you, is the blu upgrade not worth it? by underthemilkywayin dvdcollection

[–]myhandleonreddit 1 point2 points ago

When the movie is 28 Days Later, or documentaries and low budget films and the like that won't benefit from 1080p video. Even then, the updated codec and audio quality would make it technically worth it.

What would you say are the "Big Four" currently airing drama series? by WithJuiceYouLosein television

[–]myhandleonreddit 0 points1 point ago

Well, there are the big 3 broadcast networks (NBC, CBS, ABC), but really the "big #" expression is only used when a few things are head-and-shoulders above any competition (big 3 for record labels, big 6 for film studios). Those are just facts. There aren't 4 dramas that are literally better than the rest, unless you're looking solely at Nielsen ratings.

Hey r/Television! Sunday Night Wars: Am I the only person who is enjoying this season of "Mad Men" more than "Game of thrones"? Which one do you watch first and enjoy more? by RobotsScareMein television

[–]myhandleonreddit 1 point2 points ago

I really liked the Treme / Game of Thrones double-feature last year. Going from Game of Thrones over to AMC with their insanely loud commercials is kind of an overload. Last year I could smoke a joint, zone out on Treme, and be just about cognitive enough to understand Game of Thrones by the time it came on. At least AMC had the decency to schedule The Killing during Game of Thrones rather than Mad Men.

I don't really like to compare shows, especially before a season's finale, but I can answer your question fairly easily. I wasn't home this Sunday, but by Monday evening I was watching the Mad Men episode. I still haven't watched the Game of Thrones one, and might not until the new one is about to air in a few days. So I guess I find Mad Men more immediately rewarding.

'Pan Am' On Amazon -- Will The Series Take Flight With Amazon Studios? by Rendlein television

Glad somebody else is getting sick of it. I feel like the Grinch when I shit all over those Netflix-resurrection posts since people seem to just eat it up, and now we've got Amazon to add to the pile. Hooray...

Why is big four in quotes? Has it ever been common to only have four big television dramas?

Surreal Gaming: Which games exist that explore the surreal and how do they compare? by eltommonatorin truegaming

The OP saying he hasn't played any surreal games is puzzling. My initial thought when I read the question was "...every game?". A game based completely in reality would be more boring than watching grass grow.

Is there any way for a non-US citizen to make a small donation to HBO? by caseyfwin hbo

[–]myhandleonreddit 1 point2 points ago

Not a whole bunch. They produce and distribute everything on their own, and they set the prices pretty damn high. You either pay for cable/HBO and watch the show as it airs, or you pick it up on DVD/Blu-ray a year later and watch it with all the special features.

Which is also why I can't understand all the moaning from people saying they can't legally watch Game of Thrones without cable. All they have to do is wait for it to come out on Blu-ray, but patience isn't a virtue anymore so they think they're forced to download HDTV rips.

Viacom's president (I think? too early to look it up) even said that article was a stretch of the truth. Nobody on Reddit really cared, though, because any article about the death of cable TV is like a new commandment from god.

[Music][IIL] Neil Young's soundtrack for "Dead Man", [WEWIL?] by cosmotravelerin ifyoulikeblank

[–]myhandleonreddit 0 points1 point ago

The music in the video game Red Dead Redemption is very similar. There is a soundtrack that I'm sure is worth a listen even if you haven't played it, but the music in the game is modular and adapts to whatever is happening around you. It's really fascinating.
